Legal Immigrants Complain About Wage and Other Problems Caused by Illegal Immigration "Armando De Alba is proud of his Mexican ancestry. But he's tired of what he views as government toleration of illegal immigrants. 'I'm for deporting everyone back,' De Alba said. 'They need to enforce the law and do it hardcore. You have got to make them understand we're not here to mess around,'" the Press Enterprise reports. "De Alba said he periodically visited worksites he had unsuccessfully bid to work on. He didn't ask the plastering workers about their immigration status but he said there were signs they were illegal workers: Trucks didn't have mandatory state-license stickers or company emblems, and workers were sometimes paid in cash and rarely spoke English." |
