House Judiciary GOP Says DHS Should Keep Border Patrol Stations Open

"House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas) and nearly a dozen Judiciary Republicans today sent a letter to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Chief David Aguilar demanding that the agency rescind its decision to shut down nine Border Patrol stations located across four states. On June 22, 2012, CBP announced that it will close nine Border Patrol stations, some of which are key locations for apprehending illegal immigrants within the interior of the U.S., and reassign these Border Patrol agents to stations along the Southwest border," says a release from the committee.
