Congressmen Ask For Continued Guard Presence at Border "Several congressmen sent a letter to President Barack Obama asking him not to reduce the number of National Guard soldiers deployed to support border-security missions. 'We have grave concerns about this proposed shift in policy and we urge you to extend the current deployment of 1,200 National Guard troops on the southern border,' said the Dec. 13 letter signed by a bipartisan group of members of Congress," the El Paso Times writes. |
