Border Agent Injured in Shooting

"A U.S. immigration agent was shot and wounded during a surveillance operation on a desolate stretch of highway near the Texas-Mexico border on Tuesday, and three people were in custody, law enforcement officials said," Reuters reported.

"ICE agents and other law enforcement officers were conducting a surveillance operation when at least one person opened fire early on Tuesday, Trevino said. Authorities would not discuss a possible motive, but they were examining an area along a rural highway between a small house and where a vehicle was abandoned in the brush, its rear and passenger side windows shattered by gunshots."
