Rep. Lamar Smith - Lack of Enforcement Endangers Americans

"President Obama's reckless amnesty agenda has proved to be both dangerous and deadly for the American people. The House Judiciary Committee this week released a report finding that thousands of illegal and criminal immigrants not detained or deported by federal authorities have gone on to commit more crimes, including murder, rape, kidnapping, and child molestation," says Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX). "As part of the committee's oversight responsibility, a subpoena was issued to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) last November for a list of illegal and criminal immigrants who have been brought to the agency's attention through the Secure Communities program but who have not been detained or deported by the agency."

Low Morale at ICE Due to Amnesty Plan

"President Barack Obama's changes to the nation's immigration enforcement policy has morale 'in the toilet right now' among Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the head of a national organization that represents such personnel says. 'Morale is in the toilet right now,' Chris Crane, president of the National ICE Council, told Fox News on Thursday. The group represents about 7,600 officers, agents and other ICE employees. 'Most of the guys out in the field are just in an uproar,'" Newsmax.com reports.

DOJ Opposes Letting Illegal Alien Lawyer Join the Bar

In a brief filed with the California Supreme Court, the U.S. Justice Department opposed Chico-area law school grad Sergio Garcia's right to become a lawyer as long as he remains an illegal immigrant. The state Supreme Court, which took up the case earlier this year, had asked the federal government for its legal opinion," the San Jose Mercury News says.

Veteran ICE Agent Faces Discipline for Arresting Illegal Alien

"An 18 year veteran Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent is facing suspension for refusing to release a person he knew to be an illegal alien. The ICE agent and his partner were conducting surveillance on the vehicle of a known criminal alien. A subject got into the car but upon his arrest and detention turned out to not be the target of the investigation but still illegally within the United States," the Examiner writes. "The veteran agent decided to go forward with the detention of the subject even though the subject did not meet the criteria for deportation set by the Obama administration. Two supervisors ordered the veteran agent to let the subject go and a disagreement ensued that eventually led to a letter of proposed suspension for the agent over the incident."
