Senate Not Moving to Gutierrez's Timeline

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said the announcement by Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) that he planned to introduce an amnesty bill soon was news to him. Graham said the Senate's first priority was passing health legislation before they would decide on tackling immigration, Roll Call reported.

The Exploitation Paradox: Yet Another Immigration-enslavement Story

Akouavi Kpade Afolabi brought 20 women and girls as young as 10 to the U.S. on fraudulent visas, holding them in virtual slavery and stealing their money. Afolabi's lawyer "said what the U.S. government called slave-like supervision was merely a West African custom of protecting young girls by making sure they were tightly supervised, especially in a foreign country where they didn't know the customs or the language."
