Arpaio Signs Revised 287(g) Agreement
Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona signed a revised 287(g) agreement, which under the new terms limits his ability to conduct street level immigration enforcement. "This just includes the jail, and deep down, I feel that I ought to take it and rip it all up," Arpaio said. "On the other hand, I feel it's very critical to have the jail."

Open-Border Groups Blame Immigration Policy for Olympic Bid Loss
The Immigration Policy Center was quick to harp on America's supposed restrictive immigration policy as the reason for Chicago losing its bid to host the Olympics. The IPC picked up on one question asked by an IOC (International Olympic Committee) member from Pakistan about visa access. Pakistan has certainly faced more scrutiny after 9/11, due to terrorism, so it would not be surprising for that question to be asked.

LA Times Editors Defend American Apparel for Hiring Illegal Workers
"American Apparel is in the process of firing all of its undocumented workers, under pressure from the Department of Homeland Security -- a move that will cause as much real harm to Los Angeles as it will imaginary good," says the LA Times in an editorial. Despite 12% unemployment in California, the most the LA Times is willing to admit is that it is "possible" Americans will benefit from having those jobs open.
