Massive Legal Immigration is Unworkable

"At the present time, our U.S. Congress shoves 160,000 legal immigrants down our throats every 30 days. Month in and month out, year in and year out, decade in and decade out. For what? All the while, we suffer 15 million unemployed Americans and 35 million subsisting on food stamps!" says Frosty Woolridge.

One-Quarter of H-1B Visas Unclaimed

Unlike previous years, the allotment of 65,000 H-1B visas was not claimed completely, underlining the low demand for foreign workers by companies. The Sify news site said that 47,000 of the 65,000 visas had been applied for so far by the end of the fiscal year. The new federal fiscal year starts today, with another 65,000 visa spots available.

USCIS Begins Using New Citizenship Test

Citizenship and Immigration Services will formally begin using the new citizenship test for all applicants starting today, the agency said. "Our new test captures the meaning of citizenship and is consistent with our values and history as a nation," USCIS Director Alejandro Mayorkas said.

Terror Plot Suspect Overstayed Visitor Visa

"The visitor's visa that Hosam Smadi used to enter the United States basically authorized him to visit friends and relatives and see the sights, likely for no more than six months. It did not permit him to work, go to school-- or stay for two years," the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. "Although Smadi married a Texas woman in July 2008, the union did not automatically make him a lawful, permanent resident."

Open-Borders Groups Still Mad Over Gatekeeper

NBC-TV San Diego says open-border activists plan on protesting the 15th anniversary of the Gatekeeper operation, that marked one of the first serious efforts to gain control of even a fraction of the land border with Mexico. Former U.S. Attorney Pete Nunez called the assertion that the U.S. is responsible for border deaths "ludicrous." "Should we feel guilty because Mexico and other parts of the world have failed their own people, causing them to leave? No. "
