Sen. Ted Kennedy: Architect of Modern America's Immigration Crisis RIP

There's been little mention in the media over the years of Senator Kennedy's role in promoting radical and extreme changes to America's immigration laws. Today's USA Today has an unbalanced account of his legacy. Among Sen. Ted Kennedy's accomplishments, the paper notes, was the passage of the 1965 immigration law that opened the floodgates to more immigration. Other legislation included the 1986 amnesty, and the failed amnesty effort in 2006 and 2007.

Illegal Immigration and Health Care - Way Past "Riled Up"

The growing controversy over government sponsored health insurance is getting even hotter thanks to provisions in the legislation that open the back door for illegal immigrants to receive coverage. The AP covers the dispute, noting that while President Obama has said the legislation isn't intended to cover illegal immigrants, there is no way to prevent them from getting coverage under the bill.

Green Card Waits Prompt Suit

Some immigrants whose minor children are no longer eligible for sponsorship for green cards have filed suit, seeking to overturn a DHS rule. The legal immigrants in question have received their green cards, but their minor children have 'aged out', and must now apply for green cards on their own.

Repatriation Flights Resume to Mexico

The DHS has resumed repatriation flights to Mexico's interior to discourage illegal immigration. The flights, which occur during the worst of the summer heat along the southwest border, are intended to discourage people from trying to re-enter the U.S. illegally.
