National Review Wakes Up on Illegal Immigration and California

USCIS Making Surprise Visits to H-1B Employers

EWeek says that Citizenship and Immigration Services is making surprise visits to employers of H-1B visa holders. The on-site visits are intended to audit the application data and make sure that no fraud or abuse are occurring. The visits come after a report last year found that one-fifth of all H-1B visas issued involved some form of violation or fraud.

Employers Say E-Verify Easy to Use

Mississippi employers are the latest to find out the benefits of using the E-verify system. After July 1st, government contractors there were required to use the system for new hires. Contractors praised the speed and reliability of the system for verifying new hires.
