Rasmussen Poll: Majority Opposes Mexican Trucks On U.S. Highways

While President Obama was concluding a mini-summit with the presidents of Canada and Mexico on Monday, a Rasmussen poll found that sixty-six percent (66%) of U.S. adults oppose lifting the congressional ban on Mexican trucks operating in the United States. President Obama Wants Immigration Bill Proposal by End of 2009

Another day, another message. Two days after saying that immigration reform would have to wait until 2010, President Obama at the end of the summit of North American leaders, vowed to have an immigration bill proposal ready by the end of 2009. The proposal would include amnesty for those who have entered the country illegally. Read the whole article here, and also see FAIR's president Dan Stein's response to this breaking news.

San Francisco Passes Anti Speech Resolution

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution declaring everything they disagree with to be a form of hate speech. Singled out for condemnation are talk radio and cable TV news. The reason cited is alleged increase in hate crimes, although the resolution stated that the number of hate crimes has held steady since 2003 (see line 12 page 3 of the resolution). When measured on a per capita basis, the incidence of hate crimes has actually decreased since 2003. You can download the resolution here.
