New Yale Study Shows Mass Immigration Drives Population
Joseph Chamie, writing for the YaleGlobal publication, finds that immigration has been the prime driver of U.S. population growth throughout its history, with the strongest impact on growth most recently. Chamie notes that every population advisory board or committee by the U.S. has found that more population is not the answer to any problem faced by the country.
Pressure Grows on Congress to Expand, Extend E-Verify
A new mandate for federal contractors to use E-Verify will go into effect on Sept. 8th, but that step is just the start, the Jacksonville Business Journal writes. New legislation in Congress would mandate E-Verify for all employers as well as stop the Obama administration from scuttling regulations regarding Social Security "no-match" letters.
Kidnappers Assaulted by Relatives of Immigrants in Connecticut
Relatives of two illegal immigrants allegedly kidnapped by smugglers attacked the smugglers in Connecticut, prompting the arrest of 19 people. Relatives of the two captives decided to rescue them instead of paying ransom. ICE agents had been investigating and were there to assist with the arrest.
