California Slashes Budget But Ignores Illegal Immigration

Details are now emerging about the budget deal hammered out by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the state legislature. Most state programs will have broad cuts. But, as William Busse notes, the impact of illegal immigration on California's state budget continues to be ignored.

Shuler Readies New E-Verify Bill

Police Chiefs Favoring Amnesty Meet in Phoenix

The Police Executive Research Forum held a retreat sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation in Phoenix to issue a statement in favor of mass amnesty. The group believes that a combination of guest-worker programs, a path to legal status (amnesty), and more federal enforcement are needed.
