Road for Proposed Amnesty Could be Very Bumpy
A series of Senate floor votes this week seeking to toughen immigration enforcement is giving the Obama administration its first real taste of the chilly climate for passing a mass amnesty. The first salvo came when the Senate approved an amendment to the annual DHS spending bill prohibiting the department from changing the no-match rule. Jurisdictions get $200 Million for Enforcement Program

Illegal Immigration A Catastrophic Hit To Budget, Says Antonovich
Californians upset over the close to 3 million illegal aliens in the state have drawn the notice of the media. Despite continued efforts to paper over the budget hole created by illegal immigration in California, residents there know about the substantial impact thanks to FAIR's cost studies as well as estimates provided by the state government. Los Angeles County supervisor Mike Antonovich told the LA Times illegal immigration is a "catastrophic hit" to the budget.
