Feds Bust Up Labor Trafficking Ring

A federal grand jury in Kansas City indicted 12 defendants on racketeering, marriage fraud, identity theft and other counts in a scheme that involved forced labor trafficking and immigration violations in 14 states. The 12 defendants are accused of illegally luring foreign workers to the United States to work for low pay and live in substandard conditions. You can read the whole story here.

Technology Making it Easier to Identify Illegal Aliens

Technology that uses fingerprints to determine whether jail inmates are in the country illegally is making its official debut with the San Diego County Sheriff Department. Part of the Secure Communities program administered by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the program allows law enforcement officials to fingerprint everyone booked into the county's three largest jails to help prevent criminal aliens from being released back into the community.
