Cooperation at Local Level Nets Criminal Element Operation Community Shield, a national law enforcement initiative that targets violent transnational street gangs through the use of ICE's broad law enforcement powers, helped immigration and local police authorities in arresting 17 illegal immigrants in Wichita during an operation targeting foreign-born gang members. The men were allegedly members or associates of street gangs known as Kings of Destruction, Players For Life, Surenos-13, and the Vato Loco Boys. Read the whole story here.
