Wash. Times Editors: Attrition Policy Working

"The word "attrition" or a reduction in numbers aptly describes the state of illegal immigration today. Illegal immigration in the United States is on a slow decline - and enforcement and unemployment are playing significant roles. Unemployment surged up to 6.1 percent in September, according to the Department of Labor. In fact, the overall gloomy economic picture may be providing fewer enticements," the Washington Times says in an editorial. "Communities have also become aware of the fact that illegal immigrants do not simply provide cheap labor. The cost of them living here burdens local communities - their schools, roads, hospitals, etc. So, even if businesses and households that employ illegal aliens pay them salaries commensurate for a measurable standard of, say, housing, the bottom line is that local communities must bear the costs of everything else, as the president of Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) told The Washington Times editorial board. This is a notable fact during an election year. 'Politicians should take amnesty off the table completely if they want to find a solution and start talking about real solutions to America's immigration crisis," FAIR's Mr. Stein said.'"

DUUUH!

Take away the jobs and the free government handouts, keep up interior enforcement, and get rid of the open border politicians, and the illegals have no choice but to go home.

But with the two open border nuts we have running for president, this could all be stopped, and reversed, and amnesty could be brought back from the dead.

HI AMERICAN ME

I already bought a Nader shirt and bumper sticker, Dr. Nader's slam on illegal employers and a need to reduce American population ASAP bought my vote.

I don't agree with everything Dr. Nader stands for, but good gawd, this imminent depression needs a President, not those two corporate stooges.

Illegal Aliens Working At S.C. Plant Thought They'd Never Get Caught

"The community's transformation was slow but steady over the last 15 years as the newcomers replaced working-class whites and blacks. Neighborhood residents who knew about federal charges against plant supervisors accused of helping illegal immigrants forge documents didn't think the trouble would trickle down to them. After all, they were only here to give the plant long hours of joint-aching work and local officials didn't seem to mind. That thought was likely shared by immigrants in communities nationwide including states throughout the South, Iowa and New York who have been caught in similar raids by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement," the AP writes.

"House of Raeford processes chickens and turkeys in eight plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana and Michigan. The Greenville plant and its nearly 900 workers have been under scrutiny for almost a year as authorities looked into allegations the company knowingly hired illegal immigrants. Eleven supervisors and the plant's human resources director have been arrested, mostly for falsifying immigration documents."

How stupid is the reporter who wrote this sob story about the poor illegal alien. She says she came to America for a better life for her three sons, but the article says her three sons were born in America. She also says she's planning to take her kids back to Guatamala to be with their father who was deported two years earlier, but you will have to "kill me first" before she would sign deportation papers.

Oh, and she was so hungry in Guatamala that she had to eat grass and dirt. Give me a break. These journalists really take us for stupid.

JUST MORE ARROGANT ILLEGAL ALIENS IGNORING OUR LAWS, BEING HIRED BY GREEDY, ANTI-AMERICAN BUSINESSES.

"Lopez is under house arrest and has to wear an ankle monitor until her deportation hearing Nov. 14. She has no money to hire a lawyer.

Her 4-year-old son, Issias, is recovering from surgery she doubted he would get proper medical care in Guatemala, where she plans to take her children to rejoin their father."

Who do you suppose paid for the child's surgery? Another thing I don't get, these illegals always talk about how they just come here to work. But that's one big fat lie, because if it was just work they were after, they wouldn't be having children here.

Once again, here`s more liberal media illegal alien sob stories. The AP has joined the left wing mainstream media. They are no longer trusted for the truth, just like most of the biased mainstream news.

We need to pray for them?!! How about praying for the American workers and their children that got cheated out of employment!!
How about making examples of the scum-bad employers who falsified papers to hire these illegal parasites!!
How about fully enforcing our immigration law. They were written to protect American workers in the first place!!

SWITCH TO BEEF OR VEGGIE BURGERS

I'd say switch to fish, but the world's overpopulation ruined the seafood with mercury.

Posted by: Softwarengineer on October 9, 2008 04:27 PM

Meatpacking used to be high paying union jobs in places like Iowa. I was reading something a couple weeks ago about one of the plants raided and the manager was complaining that productivity dropped. That's because these companies speeded up the lines years ago when they started hiring illegals, knowing they would never complain. That brought about a big increase in injuries. There's a reason the Wall Street Journal has called for an amendment saying "there shall be open borders". The reason is they want all of us working for nothing.

And La Raza goes right along, because they claim Mexicans are unable to get a work visa for "jobs Americans won't do", so they have practically no choice but to cross the border.

New Texas Rules Aim to Keep Licenses from Illegal Aliens

"In a clampdown on illegal immigrants, the Texas Department of Public Safety has adopted a new policy requiring noncitizens to prove they are in this country legally before they can obtain or renew a driver's license. Gov. Rick Perry applauded the change, which went into effect Oct. 1, as a way to strengthen the state's security," the Houston Chronicle reported. "'Texas is a great place to live and work, and while we welcome legally documented individuals to the Lone Star State, we must ensure that this privilege is not abused by those seeking to enter our country illegally,' he said."

Rep. Lamar Smith: Put Americans First on E-Verify

"When the U.S. Chamber of Commerce called on Congress to pass the financial rescue bill, they asked us to "put the American people first." I agree with that sentiment. However, I can't help but point out the irony of the Chamber's statement given its own refusal to put the needs of the American people over those of illegal immigrants," says Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) in a Washington Times op-ed. "Most notable is the chamber's opposition to E-Verify, the federal government's system that allows businesses to ensure that the employees they hire are legal. Not only did the Chamber criticize a recent presidential executive order requiring companies who contract with the U.S. government to use E-Verify, it also has opposed efforts by states such as Arizona to put in place employer sanctions and other immigration control measures. In fact, the Chamber of Commerce went so far as to sue, unsuccessfully, to overturn Arizona's employer sanctions law."

It is just mind boggling the morons, on both sides, we have in Washington running the government... Their incompetence can be seen everyday, and yet these clowns keep on getting re-elected over and over again.

When is finally enough, enough, and the braindead voters wake up and throw these useless politicians out of office for good. If we don`t, we`ll only have ourselves too blame.

THROW THE BUMS OUT!

13% of H-1B Visas Petitions Are Based on Fraud

"A report released Oct. 8 by the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) reveals that 13% of petitions filed for H-1B visas on behalf of employers are fraudulent. Another 8% contain some sort of technical violations," Business Week reported. "The study, released to members of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, marks the first time the agency, part of the Homeland Security Dept., has documented systematic problems with the controversial program. Technology companies, in particular, have come to rely on the H-1B visa program to bring in skilled foreign workers to fill jobs that employers claim can't be filled with U.S. candidates."

How about 100%, we don't need foreigners replacing Middle Class, no not at all. We're entering an imminent depression.

End 100% of the H-1B program now!

Employerws need to be on notice that when there are layoffs, the first ones out the door MUST be guest workers. They have a home to return to. This is the only home country for the vast majority of US citizens. We cannot get jobs elsewhere.

Posted by: Cee on October 9, 2008 09:14 PM

All the losers here still employed? Most of your sorry incompetent a**es will lose jobs sooner than later...you can all then sit tight and crib all you want..

Posted by: boreal on October 10, 2008 05:11 AM

I don’t doubt that many H1B petitions are fraudulent, but even that’s not the biggest problem with the program. The big problem is the H1B laws themselves are a total scam.

The prevailing wage regulations make it easy to LEGALLY underpay an H1B or greencard applicant with respect to American workers. Then, to make it even worse, the Dept of Labor regulations make it legal for most employers to replace an American with an H1B person even if the American is performing well in the job.

Employers who want to hire H1Bs aren’t required to look for American workers first, either. Now, if an employer decides to sponsor an existing H1B worker for an employment based greencard, they have to *prove* to the Government that they first *tried* to find an American worker. This results in fake job ads and bad faith interviewing processes. Anyone who has seen the *How not to hire an American* video on YouTube knows exactly what I’m talking about. Have you even been invited to interview for a professional job, and were turned down for vague reasons even though you knew you were well qualified? Well, chances are there was already an H1B person working in the job you interviewed for, and the whole interview process was done only to satisfy the Labor Certification process for greencard sponsorship.

Blue collar Americans are getting decimated by waves of illegal aliens, and white collar Americans are getting hammered by the influx of foreign workers via H1B, L1, and EB greencard programs. Both Obama and McCain are avoiding any mention of any of this, because their big corporate backers want open borders.

Thank you FAIR, for reporting on all this. Keep up the good fight, FAIR, and I will keep the donations coming, even in this tough economy.

Posted by: Karl on October 10, 2008 09:16 AM

I wonder what trolls like "Boreal" will do when the companies that they work for no longer want them. H1B workers are indentured servants and they are just as expendable as anyone else. I am watching an upcoming layoff next month that will include many 3rd world programers. The problem they will face soon will be when Americans begin to look at who took away their livelyhood. This could get very ugly for H1B slaves.
Politicians who have been actively promoting H1B expansion (like Cornyn, Clinton, Pelosi etc) will have some explaining to do.

Posted by: Sandman on October 10, 2008 12:28 PM

HEY BOREAL

When you get your pink slip, be sure to let us know.

Posted by: Softwarengineer on October 10, 2008 12:42 PM

Boreal,

I'm retired - and tired of seeing the young people that I worked with taken advantage of. I find it really interesting that once one H1B gets into a management position with hiring authority, his/her group tends to hire foreign workers over Americans. Who's the racist in this picture?

Posted by: Cee on October 10, 2008 04:02 PM

H-1B workers need to realize that once they obtain their green cards that they are just as expendable as citizens. They will be older and expect to be paid based on their knowledge even though it would be less than a citizen worker at the same stage of their career. They will be just as likely to be out the door so that some young H-1B worker from an even more deprived background who will work for even less than they did can have their job.

Posted by: Cee on October 11, 2008 02:28 PM

A lot of third worlders like Boreal want to work here and immigrate to the US and the minute it looks like they won't get their way, out come the insults. These ImmigrationVoice H-1Bers are so desperate and delusional that they think its their birth right to get a green card to stay in the US permanently.

Those on student visas are supposed to go home and build up their own countries, not stay here and compete with our new grads for increasingly scarce jobs. The politicos tell the citizens that H-1B visas are only to fill temporary shortages. That’s a bunch of BS, of course.

Boreal and other foreign workers have developed an entire mythology to make them feel good about the present wrongful situation. Alleged labor shortages, allegedly lazy citizens, the allegedly superior and updated qualifications of the foreign workers, their own twisted version of manifest destiny, their allegedly superior work ethic, and so forth ad nauseum. You name the lie, and they’ll use it for their own gain. Anyone who stands up to them gets covered in all kinds of vile insults. Just ask yourself, how many of our jobs must we give them before they are satisfied? And would any other country in the whole damn world sacrifice their own native workforce if instead of the US, they were the targeted promised land?
