I appreciate the efforts of the Prog. Guild, but I am afraid that the Feds are only giving us a few crumbs of bread with this judgment in order to fool the public into thinking that they are serious about the economic well being of working Americans.

There are a number of bills in Congress that would double or triple the number of H1B visas and even one by Zoe Lofgren that would increase the number of employment greencards. If any of these bills pass then more citizens will lose their careers, as the law allows most employers to freely replace citizens with H1B people at will, even if the citizens are performing well in their jobs. Once the H1B-ers get those precious greencards, then the displacement of Americans becomes permanent and self-perpetuating.

I have seen a lot of anti-American discrimination in the companies that I have worked for, much of it coming from foreign managers who are former H1B visa workers that got their greencards and were granted legal perm resident status.

Also, I have yet to meet an H1Ber-turned-greencard-holder that is even remotely interested in becoming a US citizen. You see, these obnoxious parasites want all the privileges and comforts of living in the US with NONE of the responsibilities of citizenship. These are good reasons to shut down the EB greencard program as well as the H1B racket.

Fact: The majority of H-1B visa holders possess no special skills that their American counterparts lack. They are desired because they come CHEAP. The average H-1B foreign worker is paid 20 percent less than a comparably qualified U.S. citizen.

Zoe Lofgren's bill would RE-CAPTURE all greencards, which were not allocated to their rightful owners due to USCIS's slow processing. USCIS could not allocate all 140k greencards marked for allocation each year due to slow processing and so wasted them. Due to this, there is a backlog of a large number of g-cards. Zoe is just trying to re-captute and allocate them so that the backlog is taken care of. How can it be called an "increase" in greencards. Explain to me.

BOREAL IS A FOREIGN POLITICAL ACTIVIST.

Based on the screen name and some posts on other websites, I have good reason to believe that Boreal and some of the other arrogant H1-B hacks who post here are part of an unsavory group called Immigration Voice.

For those of you that don’t already know, Immigration Voice is a political activist group, made up of mostly Indian and other Asian H1-Bs who work in high tech and other professions, whose main purpose is to lobby the Federal Government for drastic increases in green cards and other changes that would allow far greater numbers of third world foreign workers to easily and quickly attain permanent residence in the U.S. They have even hired professional lobbyists to help them accomplish this goal.

Boreal and the other members of the Immigration Voice group LOOK UPON ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS WITH DISDAIN.

Several of the H1-B workers that I work with actually are contributing members of the Immigration Voice group, and they regularly talk about re-making society and the corporate culture in America to their liking. Most of them want to get green cards and eventually move into management roles so they can set their own rules for who gets hired and fired.

TRANSLATION: THEY WANT OUR GOVERNMENT TO APPROVE AS MANY GREEN CARDS AS POSSIBLE SO THEY CAN IMPORT AS MANY OF THEIR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES AS POSSIBLE TO ELIMINATE AMERICANS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF PROFESSIONS – NOT JUST HIGH TECH!

Remember that H1-B is a dual intent visa. That means the foreign workers can apply for a green card while they are here on H1-B. Once they get the green card, then they become permanent residents and are almost impossible to deport. MORE GREEN CARDS MEANS MORE ECONOMIC DISPLACEMENT AND MISERY FOR MILLIONS OF AMERICAN WORKERS AND MORE LOST CAREERS FOR AMERICAN COLLEGE STUDENTS.

On the other hand, IF WE PUT A MORATORIUM ON GREEN CARDS THEN MOST OF THE H1-B WORKERS WOULD PROBABLY GO HOME, THUS IMPROVING THE WAGES AND WORKING CONDITIONS FOR AMERICANS.

Politically speaking, we citizens had all better get it in gear and build up OUR organizations, because I can guarantee that none of us want to live in the economic and cultural environment that Boreal and other H1-B hacks and their employers have planned for us.

So what if Lofgren’s bill says that it recaptures unused greencards from the past? It still makes more greencards available. More greencards means more fraud, like the kind shown in the *How not to hire an American* video on YouTube. In this video, lawyers from the Cohen & Grigsby law firm demonstrate how they help employers game the hiring laws and disqualify even highly qualified American job seekers using legal technicalities, just so H1B people who are already working in those jobs can get greencard sponsorship.

Any increase in EB greencards or H1B visas results in job displacement and career loss for Americans, so it doesn’t matter if those visas are designated as *new* or *recaptured*. The effect is the same either way.

H1B people like to brag about how they are supporting Americans thru payroll tax and Social Security tax deductions. This is a ridiculous claim on its face, since studies by the Center for Immigration Studies and Dr. Norman Matloff have shown that H1B depresses wages in the industries that use the program. Depressed wages means a decreased tax base. So even though the H1B people may be paying taxes, their presence here means less tax revenue is going into the federal Treasury, in the present and in the future.

No other country in the world has a system that allows foreign workers to be arbitrarily substituted for skilled domestic workers. If such a system were in place in India or the Middle East, for example, there would be massive protests and possibly rioting in the streets.

Boreal and Independent, please keep posting your rants here. The obnoxious attitudes evident in your writings are the very best reason to shut down both the H1B and EB greencard programs.

As the CEO of a fast-growing business, I always welcome competitors such as yourself who toe the party line, persist with a cost mentality, and fail to see the larger picture. It's the innovators and creative risk-takers who flourish, not the self-described executives (e.g., Purpose Driven Exec) and managers, who generally have done a poor job running this struggling economy.

The adjectives you employ reveal much about your values: smart, productive and mentally tough just doesn't cut it in my company. Why? Anyone I hire, whether internal or external, needs these attributes as a base-line; it's all assumed. What I'm after are people who are creative, think outside the box, and not "productive," but effective. Do you understand the shade of difference here? If not, let me explain.

A productive employee delivers set results against given criteria at a certain cost-time input. This is a 1930s-style measure of output as you mean it. I don't establish set criteria and my workers don't punch a time clock. Instead of worker drones, I only hire tech workers who employ something strategic in areas that will expand the company's success. They might even be part-time consultants who are not "productive" in terms of measurable, short-term results.

As Amazon founder Bezos recently noted to an executive when asked how much he would spend on developing Kindle, his reply was, essentially, "How much do we have?" Innovators such as Bezos and Steve Jobs are not, unlike Indian outsourcing firms and yourself, in the front of the line for imported tech workers.

Concerned Citizen, do you mean to say that you actually run a business by paying people who do not produce any measurable or quantifiable benefit for your company? Really now, just try taking that business model to a venture capitalist or private equity group and see how far you get.

I get the impression that you and Mr. Software would like to live in an America where there is no immigration, no outsourcing, and rank and file employees get paid 50$-60$ per hour for doing very little work with plenty of benefits and lots of time off. Dream on! I’ve got news for you, most of the investment capital that makes this economy run currently comes from the Middle East and Asia. Do you think those investors are going to waste money on a leisure time oriented economy with bloated salaries for under performing workers? No way!

The only way that the domestic economy can stay afloat in this competitive new world is to boost productivity and lower costs. And yes, labor is a major cost. Importing mentally tenacious people to do high tech jobs in a cost effective manner is a no brainer. You better start learning to speak Hindi and Mandarin.
