Guest Workers Disappear from Ala. Plant "About 100 people who came from Nepal to work at a north Alabama I knew it! Americans are disappearing at an alarming rate. Just look - over a thousand vanished from Huntsville, Al.( Since the town has a space center, maybe the mothership got them) I'm sure that's what happened or the Cinran Company would not have needed to import workers from Nepal. Or, is this another instance of Americans being too stupid? If you'd like to work for this company, just practice. Keep repeating - "pick up box, place DVDs in box - close box and seal." Now, you're almost ready for this entry level position. Several things irritate me about this article. 1. The article said, " . . . said it turned to foreign workers because the area job market couldn't fill its needs." I'll be that if they were willing to pay a fair wage they would have been overflowing with job applicants from the local job market. 2. "It's possible that they had work visas, they expired, and they went home," Let's be realistic! They haven't the foggiest idea where these people are, where their furniture is and have no intention of following up on it. 3. "The workers can earn $8 an hour working 12-hour shifts packing DVDs in boxes." These workers "CAN" earn $8 an hour but what are they REALLY earning. $8 is barely above minimum wage. I`M SURE THEY HAD NO VISAS... THE COMPANY COULDN`T FIND WORKERS IN THE AREA, BECAUSE THEY DIDN`T WANT TO PAY AMERICANS A DECENT LIVING WAGE, SO AS THE USUAL GREEDY BUSINESS, THEY HIRE CHEAP FOREIGN, AND PROBABLY ILLEGAL LABOR. Posted by: American Me on January 31, 2008 03:37 PMWeird story. Why did this company even open a plant in the U.S.? In a location that (supposedly) never had enough U.S. workers to fill their needs in the first place. Why Huntsville? Then they import 1350 workers from Bolivia, Nepal, Jamaica? Thats an extraordinary amount of money and effort to put into filling positions for minimum wage jobs. Positions that U.S. workers would have filled in some other location. They say in real estate that location is everything, so this company's choices don't make much sense, or pass the smell test. I hope DHS, ICE, and the state's attorney general will take a very close look. Posted by: jeebie on January 31, 2008 04:04 PMIT IS A WEIRD STORY Perhaps the company is a smuggling operation, gets them in legal on phony jobs, then sells them like slaves to the American organised crime highest bidder? Posted by: Softwarengineer on January 31, 2008 04:44 PMI hope there is an investigation of this entire transaction from beginning to end. Who came up with this idea in the first place? Who approved it? Who got it through government? Etc. Perhaps Nepal could hire John Edwards and Rudi Giuliani to do the investigation. The Bipartisan Disappearing Nepal Investigation. Beware of the "we need guest workers" Republicans no matter how tough they talk on immigration. They are as phony as a 3 dollar bill. Posted by: Richard A. on February 1, 2008 11:52 AMI think there are alterior motives for this story making to the press...whicb woud ordinarily be filtered out by the media and greedy corporate stock holders. My guess is angry stock investors leaked this story. Check out the stock price for this company over the past 6-months. It has gone from $25/share down to $5.00/share. The board of directors of this scam company are being penalized through by angry investors via stock price. If the stock price would have stayed high we would have never heard this story. We should now send ICE in to prosecute this company for recketeering and hiring illegal aliens. Posted by: Had IT on February 1, 2008 11:56 AMI think Softwarengineer is onto something. I want to know how these jobs were advertised to the American Public before they decided that they "just had to seek workers from overseas". I would love to ask one of these workers what did they truly earn an hour (day, week, etc.). Were there threats made to them to come here and stay here or other false promises? I also wonder if these people are undercover terrorists who duped Cinram, the U.S. Government, and all the other greedy bastards?! Did no Americans apply to live at this apartment complex that had so much extra space for these people? They also saw the big payday until they were utterly screwed!! I hope we Americans don't pay (more than we already are) for the greed of others. Will McCain win if legally admitted immigrants blow us up?! Posted by: United Statesian on February 1, 2008 04:29 PMSounds like they took the money and everything else they can use, and ran. Way to go. Just what this country needs. More people "lost" in the system. Guess they weren't willing to do just any work, after all. Probably moving on to greener pastures. It's amazing how we let foreigners dupe us at every turn. On the other hand, everyone involved, except we good citizens, got what they deserved. I find it hard to believe there are no unskilled Americans who would work for $8.00/hr. Happy hunting. P.S. Since these workers will need to be replaced, try hiring born and bred Americans. They likely won't "flee." Posted by: Born American on February 4, 2008 02:51 PMThe fact that they say "perhaps they had visas that expired and they went home" is crap! There is no record of them purchasing tickets of any kind to leave the country and last time I checked, the land bridge through the Alaska area had long since melted away... More federal BS to try and absolve themselves of responsibility... And we're considering McCAin as the republican nominee???? January 31, 2008
Should Illegal Aliens Get a $1.8 Billion Tax Rebate? Update 2/1: The loophole is still in the bill "With little debate in the U.S. House of Representatives, a bill was passed to 'stimulate' the economy. Nevermind the fact that jobs continued to be created in January and that the so-called stimulus package simply shifts money from one taxpayer group to the other (not a conservative position), but there is another glaring problem with the bill. As it turns out, you don't even need to be an American citizen to get a rebate from the American taxpayer. Because of the wording in the House bill and the way it was rushed to a vote without amendment, illegal aliens could also be getting checks sent to them compliments of Uncle Sam," notes Bobby Eberle. As noted in a story by FOX News, once the bill was passed, "A mini-brushfire broke out in the Capitol Wednesday as members realized that the decision to refund tax payments to ITIN holders meant illegal immigrants could possibly benefit." Click here for a larger version of the illegal alien rebate check. FAIR's initial estimate is that 4 million illegal aliens (roughly one-half of illegal aliens in the workforce who have withholding taken from their check) could be eligible for rebates, and assuming half get $300 and half get $600, the total cost would be at least $1.8 billion. As of 1pm CST the Senate is still going to vote on the economic stimulus package with the loopholes giving illegal aliens tax rebates still included! CALL YOUR SENATORS NOW! Posted by: Steve on January 31, 2008 02:19 PMWhy am I not surprised? Posted by: June on January 31, 2008 02:36 PMWhat a crock! On the article above I totally disagree with part of it. The reason both Republicans and Democrats are voting for economic stimulus is because our GDP 4th quarter was 0.6% (recessionary) and the stock market/dollar/Money Market rates are crashing. Conservatives and Liberals won't argue those pragmatic facts. We don't need anymore overpopulation immigration, that's why we're in this mess! And thank you FAIR for the URL! We're starting to see through this line of garbage that you're trying to feed us. It's called scapegoating and fear-mongering. So just knock it off. Posted by: Alan on February 1, 2008 01:27 PMOn January 31, 2008 I sent the email (excerpted from FAIR's Action ALert) below to Senators Max Baucus and Charles Grassley of the Senate Finance Cmte. I also sent this letter to both of my senators and congressman. "The economic stimulus package traveling through Congress right now does nothing to stop the IRS from issuing rebate checks to illegal aliens. The issue stems from defining who is eligible for a tax rebate. In drafting H.R.5140, Congress left gaping loopholes. Section 101 excludes "nonresident aliens" from being eligible, but this is essentially meaningless as the IRS does not determine whether an individual is a "nonresident alien" based on his or her immigration status. Moreover, it does not address the eligibility of illegal aliens who send in tax returns using stolen or false social security numbers. At a minimum, the IRS should be required to screen the numbers (whether individual taxpayer identification numbers (ITINs) or social security numbers (SSNs)) used to issue the checks to ensure they match the name of the taxpayer in question. If a name and number do not match, the IRS should be prohibited from issuing a tax rebate check. Please take action to correct this oversight." So illegal aliens do pay taxes. So why was i made to believe that they do not ??? Posted by: Dan on February 1, 2008 08:42 PMUm, there is very little fear mongering about the 3rd world invasion of illegals into the US. Because of the mass immigration we are experiencing today, the US will grow increasingly overpopulated so that the quality of life will suffer along with the availability of resources. The census bureau predicts that the population of the US will swell to 420 million by 2050. That is an increase of 120 million people in 43 years. This is a far cry from sustainable development of a country. Posted by: toalan on February 2, 2008 07:06 AMsure send it ... if we have an address then we know where to send ICE ... Now the voters need to respond and send the New York Times-endorsed McCain home to his wife's house in Arizona. During the debate, McCain reiterated his lie about Romney's voting record with a wide, smug, plastic "I can do whatever I want and get away with it" grin, then dodged the question about his own amnesty bill by saying it wouldn't be brought up again, anyway. OF COURSE he would vote for it again. Are the voters of California going to take that lying down on their home turf? California talk radio needs to rally the troops. Beside the fact McCain's a dirty-tricks, lying creep, McCain's made a cynical calculation: he thinks Americans, deep down, love the guy who's mean, bullying, defiant to social graces and sticks his middle finger right in the world's face. That's who he thinks we are as a people. Are we? If so, then he's right down at our level where everyone can relate and identify with him as "one of us." If, on the other hand, we want lawbreakers to go to the back of the line and we want a thoughtful, intelligent president who stands his ground under fire, then GOP voters need to rally around Romney, not split their votes among him and the other candidates. This is it. Speaking of which, McCain's demeanor reminds me of an avowed communist classmate I had in college. The guy's whole demeanor was humorless except when laughing at someone or basking in a feeling of superiority. He lived in his head: his facial expressions would move in calculated ways, but the rest of his body never budged. It was all "thought-out" emotion, never genuine. A question worth asking: what did the North Vietnamese do to his mind during those long years of captivity? Anyone worth his salt knows the Soviets, Chinese and North Vietnamese would have been very sophisticated in indoctrinating a political catch like McCain. It would have included ideas about American history and changes in our demographics, a central part of Soviet nuclear war strategy. National security readers: ask some of the old-timers if you don't already know this yourselves. I have specific ideas on how that would play into McCain's rush to change our population to 700 million plus, but the bottom line is that McCain is de-facto a Manchurian Candidate, whether he knows it or not, and the man's also displaying lack of feelings for his colleague Mitt Romney, another sign he's been damaged in the Hanoi Hilton, where they may have done a good job on him, indeed. See http://www.marthasullivanlaw.com to learn about a common immigration fraud tactic. With false accusations from an immigrant residency seeker and the help of VAWA laws, a stable American citizen can be reduced to living in poverty. All of your assets can be seized and given to the immigrant residency seeker even if you are not found guilty. You will immediately be forced to surrender a portion of your income to the immigrant residency seeker. The courts will order you to turn your motor vehicle over to the immigrant residency seeker even if the car is in your name and the residency seeker does not have a drivers license. Your illegal immigrant spouse becomes legal and you become illegal. The court system will abuse you and strip you of your rights while social programs that promote immigration fraud thrive. When you move against immigration, there are lots of people who will say "I am with you" or "I am behind you all the way." When the going gets tough, however, and you look over your shoulder, a whole lot of them will be long gone. I used to think that McCain would lose the presidency because of immigration, but I think it will be Romney instead. Its a shame. He clearly is head-and-shoulders above the others. He would solve problems. The others will create more problems. As for the "Terminator", well, he tries really hard to be a nice guy. McCain, Clinton Win Florida Contests "In winning Florida, McCain threw off a major critique of his It was a battlefield win for the pair, especially for Clinton, who would crush McCain in the general election. Despite the LA Times spin, McCain earned plenty of independent votes in Florida from people who registered as Republicans for the vote ... that according to CNN's coverage last night. Also, McCain did well with Cubans on the immigration issue (I'm disappointed in Cuban-American citizens here) and oldsters, two constituents he won't have in many other races. I still consider McCain a long shot, but Hillary's a shoe-in. The bottom line is that GOP conservatives and moderates need to rally behind Romney if they don't want the Hanoi Hilton candidate whose amnesty bill, co-sponsored with Ted Kennedy, was once tacitly endorsed on the Communist Party USA web site. McCain also voted against tax cuts and has no problem spending other people's money, including his wife's. By comparison, Hillary might even look better than McCain in the general election on immigration. McCain's that bad. At least Hillary recently stood up to boos from Hispanic Democrats when asked whether she'd introduce amnesty legislation within her first 100 days in office and she replied that it's up to Congress. She waffles on the issue, but she's more likely to reflect, consider, question and work with Congress vs. McCain's certain, ruthless pursuit of his agenda. And the Clintons have a lot of dirt on McCain's behind-the-scenes dealings. Military voters who voted for McCain in Florida thinking he's a straight arrow will find out they were wrong. Wearing a uniform alone does not make someone have character, as the country will see. Posted by: Concerned Citizen on January 30, 2008 11:51 AMBoy how the America people have short term memory... Wonder how all those "oldsters" who voted for the traitorous piece of human flotsam AKA John McCain will feel when their hero destroys Social Security by giving their benefits to Mexico? I am utterly amazed at how easily the lying, liberal main stream media has influenced the fools in this country. Obviously, the memory of McCain's duplicity last summer with the traitor Kennedy and the worst president in America's history has been erased from their simple minds by the MSM's relentless support for the RINO. Beam me up Scotty, there is no sign of intelligent life here........ From the February, 2008 Social Security and Medicare Advisor: Grassroots efforts by The Senior Citizens League (TSCL) and our supporters are raising concerns among Members of Congress about the cost of the agreement to Social Security, and the potential of benefit cuts for retirees who earned their benefits legally. The Social Security Act requires the President to submit the text of the agreement, a report that includes the estimated number of individuals who would be affected, and the estimated financial impact of the agreement on Social Security to Congress. Although President Bush has not yet sent the agreement to Congress, in 2003, prior to the agreement being signed, the Social Security Chief Actuary estimated that it would have a “negligible” long-range cost that would average about $110 million per year over the first five years. The Government Accountability Office, however, called that estimate into question saying, “the cost of such an agreement is highly uncertain, because the SSA failed to account for the large number of current and unauthorized immigrants from Mexico.” In December of 2006, TSCL obtained the first known public copy of the agreement from the Social Security Administration after being forced to file two Freedom of Information Act lawsuits. The package of documents released to TSCL, however, did not include copies of the Social Security Administration’s cost estimates. TSCL is continuing to fight the agreement. Once the President sends it to Congress, lawmakers will have only 60 days to block the agreement from taking effect. TSCL supports the “No Social Security for Illegal Immigrants Act” (H.R. 736) introduced by Representative Dana Rohrabacher (CA). The bill would close a loop-hole in the current law by prohibiting the use of work credits based on illegal work from being used to determine entitlement for Social Security benefits for immigrants. Don't get me wrong, we've always had our share of dumbness in America [any country has it], even when we had a vibrant economy with a real manufacturing sector in 70s. The big difference in today's dumbing down now occurs in a overpopulated service economy. Its obviously occuring with overcrowding in the colleges, highways, supermarkets, housing developments, parks, etc, etc.....I know the inventiveness and hope has drained away from America and its replaced with way too much stress of putting most of your efforts/resources into just owning a simple average home and car, keeping juinior on the way to a high school diploma with in-home tutoring [that my parents never had to worry about, because schools were far less crowded and far better funded per student] or they fail math and science [or pass because their math/science parents did their homework]. We might get them through the math and science in prep school, but that's followed with their hopelessness of possibly working hard to get a degree in a technical field with an American manufacturing sector gone. With real research and development basically gone too; or horribly mitigated in the name of sharing the American labor pool with the globalization god. Couple that with a good percentage of non-technicals running the show and a lot of them controlling the technical's wages, with resource shortages and $3/gal gas....you get the picture. We're at each other's throats just to survive. We're getting scared in America with exponential overpopulation growth and far less opportunities and when that happens, we suddenly get dumb, overly protective and greedy. Look at the way the Democrats have evolved the last 10 years away from environmental population control, to become globalist outsourcers with elite kickbacks, its simply brainless and horrifying. Bush Panders to Special Interests in State of the Union (Washington DC) "In Monday’s State of the Union Address, President Bush demonstrated his continued willingness to have U.S. immigration policy dictated by special interests instead of the American people. Stating "we will never fully secure our border until we create a lawful way for foreign workers to come here and support our economy," President Bush mixed together two distinct elements of immigration policy – border security and guest worker programs – in what appears to be a deliberate effort to obfuscate a sensible approach to both. Indeed, the President's statement implies that the government’s only option is to surrender to big business special interests and their big appetites for more cheap foreign workers if we ever hope to attain true border security," said FAIR in a press release issued today. "Support our economy." I have to assume that the sub-prime mortgage situation is an example of the 'support' that foreign workers contribute to, along with the health care system and social service sectors of our economy. That's the right and humane way to treat your citizens and those who are here illegally. You are so full of it! The only thing we must give to these people is safe ride home! Posted by: Jeffrey on January 29, 2008 12:00 PMHis speech should have been this: I have made so many bad decisions and created so many huge problems for the American people, that I pledge to do as little as possible over the next year. This is the least I can do for the people who elected me. Posted by: James on January 29, 2008 12:17 PMWhile President Bush probably wishes he could have passed an amnesty, he said far less in this State of the Union address than he did in last year's. I thought it was a good speech: he addressed science and technology, greenhouse gases (and carbon recapture), energy independence, placing faith on our own scientists and on our own creative talents, and gave Congress an important and timely reminder about this Republic's original and innate faith in The People. This was a remarkable shift of emphasis, tone and national identity. He was also more nuanced in how he worded his language on immigration. On the face of it, there's nothing objectionable in this immigration quote in my opinion, although open borders enthusiasts will always interpret "highest ideals" to mean amnesty, and that's where the statement's nuance can definitely work against us. But here's the thing I've been saying on this board for a long time: I agree we need to think in terms of our highest ideals. If we don't as a movement, we will have a tough, tough time making our objectives stick. By just saying "tough luck, illegals," we run the risk of becoming painted into a corner as nothing but "angry losers" and history will march on without us. That's what the pro-amnesty crowd wants and even expects, but I think they're in for more surprises. To meet our goals, we need the broad public behind us and we need to take the moral high ground, putting amnesty proponents on the defensive. We also need powerful business interests to actually want most of things we want. As Peter Brimelow recently wrote, this is possible, and I think it's already happening. There's a whole new spirit of cooperation with Mexico, and I know for a fact many businesses are angling for the new opportunities opening up in Mexico, where more Mexican labor will soon be needed. Many people flame me here for saying this, but in order to reach our highest ideals AND not have an amnesty, we need to think on a level that is also HIGHER than the pro-amnesty crowd's. And that's not hard. Pro-immigration is not pro-immigrant, and opposition to immigration policy is also not anti-immigrant. These are all very different concepts. The next time an open borders enthusiast bashes you for being "anti-Mexican" or "anti-immigrant," ask them what's best for immigrants. If they truly cared about Mexicans and immigrants, would they smuggle them here in trucks, giving them subhuman wages and working conditions while neglecting their compatriots in Mexico, who are losing all this energy from their labor force? Neglecting the economic development needs of Mexico in order to further political and economic agendas in the United States is hardly pro-Mexican, either. Is this the American Dream or the American Way? What a disgrace to humanity you are if you say yes. Amnesty, furthermore, will only encourage this to happen again when the next generation of Americans lets down its guard. Permanent law enforcement is not the total answer here. If people really want to uphold America's highest ideals, they'll help Mexicans earn better wages in a country where their cost of living is still lower, they will address quality of life issues south of the border, they will find (a database idea has been floated before) and put all Americans back to work, and only then will they look at gaps that can be filled by foreign workers. Canada has such a temporary worker system, and I know from visiting GOP offices that ultimately even GOP congressional offices opposed to amnesty will work towards having this program. We can quarrel on the actual numbers and terms of a deal, but I think something like that, once we get a handle on the immigration mess, will eventually pass. Again, Peter Brimelow mentioned this could be part of a deal with the business community if it splits with ethnocentric special interest allies on immigration, a split we must have. And seeing names like Cheney joining the Romney campaign, in that regard, is a good thing. Now we need to help define the debate. A broad amnesty without looking at social justice in terms of the impact on both Americans and Mexicans is morally unwise and will not uphold America's highest ideals, and that, not merely our anger, is why the amnesty crowd will fail. On Sunday I ran across "Shipyards Fight Shortage of Workers," an AP article by Daniel Lovering. While actively recruiting and training American workers in a very thoughtful and diligent way, Shipbuilder Dirk VanEnkevort has filled temporary employment needs with workers from Mexico and Eastern Europe under the H2-B program. The idea is to retrain displaced and young/new American workers as soon as possible. I see this as an intelligent and appropriate use of a foreign worker visa system and I think it's great. Folks who have related skills and interests should check out the opportunities at Erie Shipbuilding LLC and elsewhere. There's only one catch to this story: how do displaced workers find these opportunities? Those in the American business community who are less responsible than Mr. Van Enkevort will not actively look for or train American workers when they can hire subsidized, and often less-skilled, imports instead. That's the abuse that needs to stop, and one way to do so is to require transparency from employers. There needs to be a system, and I call it a web-facing database, but it's a whole process with Congressional oversight for posting jobs now and foreseen and for facilitating the process of seeking, training for and applying for jobs. The job descriptions need to be honest and so do the applicants, who may need additional training. This would be a modern, rational way to manage the U.S. labor market, more like a stock market, and with this will come efficiencies, a healthy national balance sheet and banking system, and far fewer loopholes for individual employers to exploit. I also think, by the way, many tech jobs can be posted as "remote" and "contracting" jobs, which could encourage more Independent Professionals, i.e., many of whom work from their homes. With all the H1-B tech workers in the United States, H1-B true believers would think this innnovative project is underway, but leave it to Yankee ingenuity and creativity to actually cook up this idea and float it. I noticed over the weekend that Liz Cheney joined the Romney campaign. I think this is great. I also heard a rumor that Bill Gates is moving closer to Romney. Again, I'm not going to quarrel ... it's expected, and it's a compliment to us. I know I'll be flamed for saying this, but popularity on the Stein Report blog is not my primary goal here. Folks, we NEED the powerful and wealthy on our team, even when, in the case of Bill Gates, we need to firmly press for our interests while allowing for legitimate business interests, as well. This is not mere class warfare going on here: regarding the national question, if we want a nation, then we have to behave like one. I'm not naive. I know we need to press for our objectives and never give up or wealthy and ethnocentric interests will steamroll us. But we need to press for new ways of thinking that satisfy as many interests as possible, and foremost the country's, and including the interests of the rich. That's how we will win. Never will the New York Times or anyone else tell us how The People will run this country, but we if we're going to run the country, we have to do it well, and we have to pick leaders to do it. Last night, President Bush talked about resolving differences on stem cell research by pushing creatively into new frontiers of science. That was the right message. When forces are opposed, like the middle and upper classes, instead of bashing each other to pieces, let's struggle to reach a creative, intelligent solution. After so much fighting on immigration, I think we have much to celebrate. The momentum is going our way, national candidates on the GOP side are taking up our banner (there's much work needed on the Democrat side of the aisle), and if last night's State of the Union speech is any indication, I think our system is beginning to sound healthy again. George Bush's legacy is looking better already, too. I, for one, am going to be optimistic and say that if we refuse to accept defeat, but also work in a spirit of cooperation, this divisiveness and bitterness in our country will give way to exciting new opportunities for the future and for Mexico, and in a few years the open borders crowd will wonder how their ideas and objectives became mere relics of history.
Millions of Americans getting their homes foreclosed, the economy in shambles, and still American soldiers dying in a third world hell hole and this SOB (son of a billionaire) comes in smiling and giving high fives to give his big speech to America. His message -"if you haven't lost your job yet and you are still earning a living wage, I'll have you living in poverty by the end of my term, as I'm gonna have a free trade deal with every third world nation on the planet." also, he continued " I'm gonna flood this country with illegal aliens so there will never ever be a middle class again" How's this for the kicker- every threat he made to middle class America was received by a standing ovation by our "representatives" in congress. Dick Cheney looked like a big tick ready to explode from consuming huge consumptions of oil profits, and super botoxed Nancy Pelosi made Joan Rivers look like Mother Theresa. Our government is too far gone for a house cleaning - what is needed is a wrecking ball and dynamite. Posted by: Future Day Laborer on January 29, 2008 01:00 PMThe only difference between bush and the rest of America is he wants it to be done humanely for the illegal cockroaches and Americans are insisting on it being settled humanely for Americans.
THANK YOU CONCERNED CITIZEN FOR YOUR THOUGHTS You really spent some time thinking it out and I know its tough for both you and I, old fashion liberals, to have seen the Democrats get so riled up defending overpopualtion the last decade, just because its their sacred cow immigration. Its still overpopulation and I don't know about you, $3.00 gas and recent American overpopulation is the root cause of stagflation for my family. I was reading in Forbes yesterday that an editor thought America was in stagflation too [but left out its clear root cause], as he summed it up quite well: I took my wife and two kids out for a night at a seafood buffet ($24.95/person), then a movie ($10.25/person)....the total bill, just for an evening out was $175. That's stagflation. Americans can't afford anymore enironmental denial over overpopualtion anymore....its destroying our hope, wages and its simply not liberal at all. Its not conservative either for that matter. What is it then? There's a recent book out from CNN called "Liberal Fascism"....the title sums it up. BOOSH CAN SHOVE HIS AMNESTY! THIS TIME NEXT YEAR THIS MORON WILL BE GONE. BUT IF IT`S McCLOWN OR ANY DEMOCRAP, IT COULD END UP BEING EVEN WORSE. Posted by: Independent on January 29, 2008 03:16 PMI can't stomach this man and his term can't end quickly enough. By the way, folks need to spread the word about McAmnesty, you know, John, "AMericans wouldn't pick lettuce for fifty dollars an hour", McCain. If he is elected we are doomed. He is anti-American, period. No one cares about his forty year preoccupation with his internment anymore. That song is getting so old. There were much worse things that happened to other folks, many died and still die. After I heard President Bush still trying to push amnesty, I turned on Law & Order. I can't stomach it anymore. Does any politician listen to the American people? When will we see policies that benefit Americans instead of the rest of the world? I'm disgusted. Posted by: CHogan on January 29, 2008 03:37 PMBUSHES PLAN WILL CARRY ON WITH THE NEXT PRESIDENT AND COME TO BE . SOON WE WILL ALL GET THE AMNESTY WE SO DESERVE Posted by: BUSH LOVER on January 29, 2008 03:52 PMConcerned Citizen, I hope much of what you say is correct. However, I have to be pessimistic. I have been working on this issue for almost thirty years, warning my "representatives" of what will come if this is not addressed. Until recently, my appeals were largely ignored. I will be stunned if we come to our senses. On the other hand, if someone had told me in 1970 that the cold war would be over in a few decades, I would have thought they were nuts. So who knows. As for the four remaining candidates, Romney is the only problem solver in the bunch. I support him, even when I feel he is a bit dangerous on the legal immigration side. I can't vote for any of the other three. Posted by: James on January 29, 2008 05:09 PMSoftwarengineer, everything you say is 110% correct. I wish the Democrat party would become more like its old, American left self. Something more like the rest of the advanced world. Heck, JFK and Truman would sound like Republicans today. I believe it will, too, when the GOP takes it to the cleaners in more presidential elections. There's no question that on the grassroots level, Democrats I speak to have the same concerns, and no matter what the background, they care about the environment, fairness, healthcare and all the rest, and they're literally appalled by the party leadership's open borders policy. But they're actually shocked that the GOP has been the same way. I'll be glad to continue voting Democrat at the local level, where they're great on land conservation and other issues, and vote for a GOP candidate. We need a reform-minded Republican, though, and that's why I've liked Romney so much because I think he has what it takes. Teddy Roosevelt once did a lot to get the business community in line. Serves the Democrat party right if their own members vote for the GOP candidate; it's the only way they will learn and change. The editor of Forbes is right. Something that's also happening: it's threatening our banking system and the assets of the elite, which are eroding away along with the inflation. That's why overpopulation, reckless use of credit and everything else that goes with this frenzy of numbers will have to stop; eventually, as we've been saying, it will catch up with elites, too. And to a certain extent it already has. Posted by: Concerned Citizen on January 29, 2008 06:56 PMpack your bags and move somewhere else JOHN AMNESTY MCCAIN has won the Florida primary the MSM has once again beaten us Posted by: impeachbush on January 29, 2008 09:30 PMDid you notice his terminology sounded just like two of our current candidates? Deal with the illegals in a "humane way"... sounds almost word for word like McAmnesty and Huckabuck. I am so pissed Romney failed in Florida... largely due to those two asses in Florida... Governor and Senator Martinez... Now, the two buddies gulianni and mcamnesty join up... Folks, if any one of these candidates (cliton, osama, huckabuck, mcamnesty) besides Romney make it to the Presidency (maybe not Paul, but he dont stand a chance)... we can say hello to the amnesty fight once again! On the other hand... like McAmnesty did before... closed door deal to seal the amnesy bill and ram that MF down our throats! Or Wallets/Purses! Posted by: Greg on January 30, 2008 01:10 AMInteresting to note that the F.A.I.R. forum seems to have BYE-BYE-MISS AMERICAN PIE...We will be living in a nightmare, like " Pirates of the Caribbean" Too bad I assume everyone has heard the news regarding the outcome of the Florida primary. This election is shaping up to be a choice between a third term for Bill Clinton or George Bush. The real fight over immigration will take place in the Congress and it will continue to be very bitter, leading to greater diviseveness among the American people. We need to come together as Dems and Reps and George doesn't need to worry! McCain will pick the torch for Amnesty. He has a outreach director working in his campaign who was in President Fox’s administration, Mr. Mexico first Juan Hernandez. McCain is part of the washington liberal gridlock that need to go! All of the remaining candidates are pro Amnesty except Romney choose wisely! Posted by: mike on January 30, 2008 11:14 AMTwenty percent of the votes cast in FL were from independent or democratic voters, not republicans! Sates who have lost their delegates due to the demo party rules have influenced the election by voting for Captain amnesty! The primaries aren't over yet, so get out a vote for Romney!!! AMERICA'S OVERPOPULATION PROBLEM IS HORRIFYING, BUT CONSIDER HOW BAD FRANCE'S IS? A Fair blogger brought up 2008 France as a horrifying overpopulation example of what not to be. I agree, but the sad American related pragmatic facts I'll list below: 1990 2006-2008 Country Fertility 249M 303M (2008) USA 2.1* *France's birthrate is slightly lower than America's, but what is really startling is America's horrifying immigration rate growth to 2008, as since 1990 its +22%. France has only grown +9% since 1990. If only we had France's measly horrifying population growth (births + immigration) in America!!!! Conversely, both Europe and Japan are showing extremely good birth rate depopulation numbers today (1.3-1.5), while although America's are subpar at replacement level (2.1), but with a simultaneous horrifying immigration add-on, exponentially increasing our population at far greater horrifying rates today; compared to France, Europe or Japan. I'd add, a sizable chunk of the immigration birth rate growth in America has been a very adverse/horrifying Hispanic impact, since 1990-2008 (3.0). These are just pragmatic scientific numbers, no racism here at all!!! Posted by: Softwarengineer on January 30, 2008 12:53 PMMORE ON EUROPE'S DEPOPULATION SUCCESSES COMPARED TO AMERICA's DISGRACES Update to previous blog: Although Japan's population has be approximately flat since 1990, Europe has reduced their population 3.2% since 1990. Environmental and global warming kudos for Europe!!! Posted by: Softwarengineer on January 30, 2008 01:02 PMWhat is complicated about enforcing and obeying the law? Why is it that American citizens are expected to obey the law regardless of their opinion of that law but illegal immigrants and their supporters expect to be allowed to pick and choose which laws they will obey? Why is it that Bush thinks we cannot secure our borders unless we come up with a way to let foreign workers into our country? Eisenhower was able to secure our borders and keep foreign workers out? The only thing that has changed is the attitude of the administration. Eisenhower was not controlled by and beholden to special interests, Bush is. Bush has not only broken the law, lied to the American people, and committed other impeachable offences; he has serously tarnished the office of the presidency. The end of his administration cannot come fast enough for me. Posted by: Hessie L. harris on January 30, 2008 01:09 PMJanuary 28, 2008
