Dan Stein: Border Warning From the Minutemen "Few things are more misleading "In the process, they humiliated national politicians, presidents of United States and Mexico and a wide array of greedy corporate interests determined to force the American people to accept an unwanted invasion of millions of illegal entrants." Yet, politicians for the most part, continue to ignore the problem. They are convinced the American people have no idea what is right for this country! I pray we can turn things around before it's too late. (Though it already is in many ways). I am so proud of the brave, unselfish volunteers of the Minuteman Project...God Bless each and every one of them. Posted by: Judith Keck on April 26, 2005 04:54 AMWhat a joke! Posted by: Ralph on April 26, 2005 08:16 AMI understand why American business lobbies want more immigration: to under-cut American wages. What I don't understand is why American "liberal" lobbies want more immigration. I see what the immigrant gains, but what exactly does America gain? The ACLU is in favor of more. How does this increase my civil liberties? The Serria Club wants more. How does this improve our environment? I'm not asking rhetorically, I really can't get an answer. If there is a higher goal (higher than benefitting the USA) than what exactly is that? Ralph? Any help? Posted by: Bill Dexter on April 26, 2005 12:01 PMWell, Bill, I can clue you in on the Sierra Club business. Wall Street investor David Gelbaum informed the Sierra Club that they would not receive a dime from him if they came out "anti-immigration". He has given them over $100 million. There is an eye opening site, run by an Arizona langowner who has documented an average of 3000 illegals crossing her and the neighbor's ranch properties per night. Check out http://www.azanderson.org/ Bill, the liberal lobbies simply want POWER. Millions of poor illegal aliens from the third world will most likely eventually be made citizens and poor people from countries that lean socialist are most likely to vote their wallets for Democrats even if they are conservative on social issues. Posted by: jackbenimble on April 27, 2005 09:01 AMVERY good article here!! http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/4/27/113052.shtml Posted by: USA_Gal on April 27, 2005 01:32 PMReform Activists Rally at Lafayette Park FAIR WAS THERE
D.A. King addresses the crowd at Monday's rally at Lafayette Park. The rally's sponsor, D.A. King, spoke of the need to reform immigration. Other speakers included Bay Buchanan of Team America Pac, Terry Anderson, Peter Gadiel of 9/11 Families for a Secure America and many more. "D.A. did a great job of organizing the rally," FAIR President Dan Stein said. "It's a tremendous start to our week to see so many Americans rallying in defense of their country."
Activists at the Lafayette Park See More Photos of the Lafayette Park Rally They should be called "CONFORM" Activists rather than REFORM activists since the laws that need to be enforced are already on the books. It should not take further legislation for Congress to conform to their own laws. However, if it will strengthen the FUNDING of enforcement, then bust the budget ! We will save the budgets of coming years for doing the right thing NOW. Posted by: Gene Rogers, M.D. on April 25, 2005 12:45 PMWish I were there! Posted by: MCPO on April 25, 2005 01:32 PMWish I could personally thank all the 400 activists for taking the time and spending their money to lobby for all of us. Considering that illegal alien constitute 10% of the U.S. population, and 20% of the population of California, I wish someone would brutally describe the programs that we need! Even the activists are pussyfooting around the nature of the enforcement action needed. Enough! Posted by: J. M. Gallagher on April 25, 2005 08:04 PMWe must save our country and our culture, by closing the borders to ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. I haven't seen any TV coverage of the event at all! The media continues it's boycott of real issues facing America and will only show illegals as poor, willing workers, yearning for a better life. Posted by: takncarabizniz on April 25, 2005 09:13 PMThis is my fax sent to my representatives and President Bush. I'd like to share my thoughts with others, so thought I'd send it in as a comment. Does anyone else feel this way? What do you think the effect of illegal immigrants is having on the middle class? Let me ask a few questions: Can American Tax Payers break the law and "get amnesty"? How many banks can I rob and have it "forgiven" by this government. I assume the answer is none. Then why are illegals allowed to steal from the taxpayers (thru medical treatment [including birthing their children], food supplements, an education for their children paid for by the taxpayers) Yet as one of those taxpayers, why am expected to live by the letter of the law? Our government also allows thousands of businesses to break the law by employing these people, not prosecuting them for non-tax payments or the fact they are breaking the law. "We the people" pay the entire cost, but are given no amnesty whatsoever when it comes to paying taxes. What precedent does this set regarding obeying the law? That only immigrants and businesses are above the law? I believe continuing to allow illegals in this country will further break down the moral, law-abiding fabric of our nation simply based on this double standard. Why should any of us obey any laws when illegals are allowed a free hand to steal our tax dollars and our jobs? It has been said that the illegal Mexicans are "just trying to improve their lives". There are many, many, many citizens who could drastically "improve their lives" by simply not paying income taxes. Will you introduce a bill to give consideration to the American citizens so they can "improve their lives"? No response needed. I know the answer. No. Citizens don't count. I hope that my comments will be taken to heart and you start to think about the breakdown of our civility as an eventual outcome to the issues of allowing illegal immigrants rights that are taken away from American citizens. Our country will lose. Thank you. pdc: What an awesome letter! You need to send that to some newspapers as an open letter to the President. Your thoughts are so concise. Godspeed to all you citizen activists lobbying for all of us including the Minutemen. I was horrified to hear how you were treated yesterday. We are calling the offices to back you up! Keep up the great work!! Hold their feet to the fire! Posted by: CAMinuteman on April 26, 2005 12:00 PMpdc sends a message that EVERYBODY should take notice of and GIVE NOTICE to those who are supposed to represent us THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE PEOPLE. Every corporate executive and business owner who unjustly enriches themselves by lawlessness using lawless workers should take heed. Posted by: Gene Rogers, M.D. on April 26, 2005 01:07 PMI think that one of the best ways to get our message across and to wake people up is getting the information out there just how much illegal immigration is costing the U.S. taxpayer. Because most of the costs are hidden and you don't get a bill in the mail for it, people don't pay attention. But when an organization, like Fair puts out a press release of the actual costs in dollars to each state and even what it costs each family, I think more people will pay attention and see what is going on. Especially when Lou Dobbs continues to talk about this, the more this is seen on the media the better. And that was the success of the Minuteman project, it really caught the media's attention. Debbie Posted by: Debbie on April 26, 2005 06:02 PMtakncarabizniz on April 25, 2005 09:13 PM I am glad that many of you thought my letter to congress was effective. I am taking your advice and sending it to USA Today. I have to reduce it to 250 words and am in process of doing that now. Thought you'd like to know. Posted by: pdc on April 26, 2005 09:55 PMPatrick Buchanan said it best: "illegal immigration has turned the 'land of the free and the home of the brave' into an international flop house". I'm grateful and proud of the activists who are in DC trying to save our american culture, as we knew it. I'll contribute what I can. Best wishes to my fellow comrades and don't let anyone shame you about your anti-immigrant feelings as we watch this country going down in flames. Posted by: Michele on April 26, 2005 10:56 PMGo to NumbersUSA and sign the petition to President Bush to close the borders. They are trying to get a million signatures by Memorial Day. Let's go for 5 million! Posted by: Marsha on April 27, 2005 07:24 AM*Quote Dan Bostan: Otherwise we will lose it and our children will be forced to live in a third world country, God-less, politically correct and culturally brainwashed.* You are right Dan...sounds like you just described a big chunk of EUROPE (especially France). *****I SIGNED THE PETITION***** Woohoo! This immigration issue is getting TONS of steam lately! FINALLY I'm not the only one that has bothered to look around and go "what the hell is going on here!?!?!" Posted by: USA_Gal on April 27, 2005 10:30 AMRadio Row @ Feet to the Fire Today marked the beginning of Radio Row at the hotel hosting many "Feet to the Fire" delegates from around the country. Among the early guests was FAIR Western Field Director Rick Oltman, show here appearing on the Bruce Jacobs show.
God bless all those that made the trip to DC! Is there anything we, who are unable to attend, can do to show our support of the "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" rally. I am afraid if only a few hundred show up, they will be viewed as fringe activists with no real power by the politicians who are selling us down the river. I can send e-mails but is there a better way to show support for the cause? I have sent so many e-mails in the past on proposed bills that I doubt they really pay attention anymore. How about a coordinated rally in every state capital that could perhaps draw thousands if not hundreds of thousands across the nation. That would get their attention! I would ceratinly atttend a rally here in Austin! Posted by: Weary Citizen on April 25, 2005 12:37 PMI hope there is another rally in DC soon so I can attend. Thank you my fellow American patriots. God Bless you all...God Bless America! Posted by: Steve on April 25, 2005 02:45 PMI think if the governmenr were to go after the illegals and deprive them of welfare benefits, that money could be redirected to pay for more agents. If they won't go back to Mexico on their own, then they should be uninvited to be here. Don't starve then. Just give them an incentive to leave .Rearrange the finances and give it to the agents who need jobs. The money is going in the wrong direction when the illegals remain here and are breaking the law. It should be the other way around. No amnesty... Posted by: VICKI on April 25, 2005 05:11 PMDear Weary Citizen. Go to www.fairus.org (if you haven't already. They are sending out e-mails each day (I think) with things others can do. Sign up for the information. I feel the same way--I wish I could have gone. I actually will be in Washington in June, but that is a bit too late. I live in Michigan and was trying to find some groups to work with here, but nothing is listed in michigan on the FAIR website. Posted by: pdc on April 25, 2005 05:57 PMVicki, Contact the FAIR Midwest representative Susan Tully and she can hook you up with people in Michigan. There's actually a lot more groups/people than what is on the FAIR website. Her email is: Tullys@FAIRUS.org or you can get her number by calling FAIR Tel: (202) 328-7004. Posted by: Melissa on April 25, 2005 08:39 PMI was unable to attend too, and when I wanted to sign up for the local push rally in my area, I found out there is no local organization. I would gladly have stood on a street corner with a sign, but I would have been the only one there and in an area that is so overwhelmingly liberal, and illegal immigrant heavy, might well have been stoned to death! LOL Posted by: takncarabizniz on April 25, 2005 09:16 PMThe illegal invaders crossing our southern borders day and night are just part of the problem. The threat is not so much foreign as it is domestic. "Treason doth never prosper. What's the reason? For it it prosper, none dare call it treason". Sir John Harrington, 1561-1612 Has anyone noticed that both parties are to blame? Posted by: Brian A. Cavallo on April 25, 2005 11:02 PMThanks pdc. I fumbled around with the FAIR website but somehow got my userid/pw messed up. Never was able to see what FAIR had on the rally beyond what was on the front pages. What I would really like to see is a coordinated nationwide rally in various cities across the country. I think it would draw hundreds of thousands of supporters if it is made easy and acessible to the masses. That would be a show of force the pols just could not ignore. Could be similar to the DC rally with local and national radio show hosts attending their city's rally. The greater the numbers the more impact on pols, and probaly just as important, draw new folks into the effort when they realize there are citizens with their same concerns (something the news org's don't report). Just a thought. Posted by: Weary Citizen on April 26, 2005 10:51 AM Thank you for fighting the good and necessary fight. If there illegal and sending money back to Mexico, as they do to the tune of $15 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR. LET'S TAX IT! There should be a 10% state tax on this money if they can not prove that there legal and paying taxes. There should also be a 10% federal tax on it to! We hold the wire transfer companies, the BANK OF AMERICA, some joke there, AND THE OTHER BANKS AND COMPANYS responsable to check and make the peniltys for not checking very stiff, FELONYS if they do not check. Then the money collected would be used to repay the states and the federal goverments for the cost that these people incur. I can see racism is alive and well in America. I'll be in DC Wed to call for amnesty and fair labor practices for immigrant workers. If we want to "protect" our borders we could stop meddling in other county's affairs and stop acting like an empire Posted by: keith sadler on April 26, 2005 02:49 PMyou're a bunch of loosers that's what you are. go for a walk in downtown Anycity Anywhere check out your "proud citizens" on welfare smokin' dope. atleast illegals work, I'll give them big credit for that. Posted by: watsup_yo on April 26, 2005 10:06 PMKeith, why do you call people racists? Shouldn't the term be law-abiding citizens? Why should we worry about "fair labor practices" when the workers do not belong in this country at all? They are the lawbreakers. What race they are has nothing to do with the fact that they are breaking our laws and damaging our country in the process. It is the government of Mexico you should be visiting to improve the conditions for all Mexicans, not trying to represent them where they don't belong. They belong in Mexico and the Mexican government is who is responsible for them. Consider putting the blame where blame is due. The United States cannot absorb all the Mexicans. This situation is putting Americans out of work. We don't have another country to go to, so we have to fight for our jobs and the future of our families. I do not think anyone should have to hand their job to an illegal. Like I said, do good work, but go do it in Mexico City. Posted by: dkr on April 27, 2005 12:03 AMKeith, what the h**l are you talking about? "Stop meddling in other country's affairs"? It is OUR borders!!!! How is that "meddling"? "Acting like an empire"? No idea what that has to do with stopping illegal immigration (put down the crack pipe please). Fianlly, get out with the "racism". I will no longer allow people like yourself to use the racism hammer to beat me into submission. This is a major problem to the American public. From the cost (health care, welfare, education....) to the enviornment, urban sprawl, culture, language. TERRORISM (ever heard of that?)..Need I go on? Let me guess, you are not white or you are benefitting monetarily from illegal immgration. What is your angle for using racism as an attack? If a white person objects to ANYTHING that may somehow tangently impact a non-white race, we are called racists even if it has nothing to do with race. Because, (drum roll) it is the hammer you use until we shut up and accept your point of view. Forget that. No more. This has nothing to do with racism. Period, end of story!!!!! And for your other monicker (watsup-yo), at least these dope smokin welfare reciepients are US citizens. We may not like it but we take care of our own. Time to STOP taking care of everybody else's while ignoring our own!!!!!! A little more compassion for our own citizens and little less for illegal aliens might go a long way to correcting the problems in this nation. Remember, "liberalism is a mental disorder"!!!!
