DHS Considers Fee Increase

Citizenship and Immigration Services is considering fee increases to make up for budget shortfalls this year and next, the Houston Chronicle reports. The agency draws funding from fees, making it partially dependent on mass immigration. In theory, the drop in immigrant benefit applications would mean a pullback in staffing, but that is not mentioned in the article. Instead, the agency expects to get more money from Congress to continue operations, including gearing up (again) for a mass amnesty program.
