South Carolina Hiring Law Shows Compliance Possible for Businesses
Six months after a tough state hiring law for illegal immigrants was passed, most South Carolina businesses targeted for investigation are complying with the law. According to the Greenville News, 16 of 600 businesses audited had hiring problems. "The high compliance rate shows how well the federal online database E-verify is working and the need for Congress to continue the system, said state Sen. Larry Martin of Pickens, who helped lead the push for immigration reform."
