Prosecutor Declines Charges for Police in Immigration Rally Fracas


The Los Angeles County district attorney's office said it would not file criminal charges against officers who broke up a demonstration by amnesty supporters in MacArthur Park. "LAPD officers were videotaped wielding batons and shooting rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse a largely peaceful crowd," the LA Times writes. In reality, many witnesses at the scene noted that individuals used the cover of the crowd to hurl rocks and other dangerous items at the police who were attempting to get the crowd to disperse.
