Witness Details Agriprocessors Immigration Crimes Elizabeth Billmeyer, human resources manager with Agriprocessors, who has pled guilty to harboring illegal immigrants, testified this week in the trial of Sholom Rubashkin, who managed the Agriprocessors plant raided by ICE. Billmeyer said that Rubashkin knew the company was hiring illegal immigrants and even went so far as to set up a separate payroll system for these workers without her knowledge so they could continue to work there. The case against Rubashkin centers on whether he lied to company lenders about being in compliance with federal law. |
