Sheriff Arpaio Continues Struggle Against Illegal Immigration

"The core issue for [Sheriff] Arpaio is illegal immigration. His county, which includes Phoenix, is a hotbed of illegal alien activity. He sees dealing with that problem as an important part of his job to keep his county as safe as possible," says Barbara Simpson in Worldnetdaily. "Arpaio says that his department has arrested and detained more than 33,000 illegal aliens; that's 25 percent of the total for the whole country. He says the feds don't like his success, that his department is 'too successful.'" Also see this commentary by Jessica Vaughn and James Edwards in the Arizona Republic.
