More Illegal Immigrants From China Caught at Mexican Border


Smuggling of illegal immigrants from China has spiked tenfold despite an overall decrease in the number of apprehensions along the southern border with Mexico. DHS agents arrested 261 Chinese nationals compared to an average of 32. The increase in smuggling of Chinese nationals may be due to the higher fees they pay to be smuggled - some Chinese are in debt between $50,000 - $70,000, which they work off in sweatshop conditions in the U.S.
