Senate to Vote on Census Citizenship Question


An amendment by Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Bob Bennett of Utah would require the Census to ask about citizenship. "Illegal aliens should not be included for the purposes of determining representation in Congress, and that's the bottom line here," said Sen. Vitter. The question is driven by the skew in Census results where districts are created, especially in California, where a large percentage of the population is ineligible to vote.
