SF City Attorney Warns Change to Sanctuary Policy Would Invalidate It San Francisco's city attorney warned city council members modifications to exempt criminal alien juveniles as part of a change to the city's sanctuary policy would doom the whole policy, under federal law. Under federal law no city or state can prohibit employees from disclosing the legal status of someone, but the changes proposed would do exactly that - opening San Francisco's sanctuary policy to legal challenge. The councilman pushing the changes was himself an illegal alien from Guatemala. |
