Engine Company Owners Plead Guilty in Wash. Hiring Case Shirin Dhanani Makalai, 52, and her brother Shafique Dhanani, 46 pled guilty to charges the helped workers file false employment information. The two were indicted as part of a new focus by the Obama administration on prosecuting employers instead of illegal workers. FAIR spokesman Ira Mehlman noted the probation sentences handed out in the case won't likely deter employers. |
