San Francisco Passes Anti Speech Resolution
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution declaring everything they disagree with to be a form of hate speech. Singled out for condemnation are talk radio and cable TV news. The reason cited is alleged increase in hate crimes, although the resolution stated that the number of hate crimes has held steady since 2003 (see line 12 page 3 of the resolution). When measured on a per capita basis, the incidence of hate crimes has actually decreased since 2003. You can download the resolution here.
