Obama Admin. Will Seek Guard Volunteers for Border Duty After reported infighting between the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security over the use of military units at the border, the Obama administration is expected to seek 1,500 National Guard volunteers for border duty. The Guardsmen will perform many of the same tasks they have in previous border deployments including working at manned border checkpoints and logistical support. Read more here. |
