Recession Leads to Fall In Illegal Immigration The overall number of new illegal immigrants may be as low as 200,000 - opening a window of opportunity for immigration reformers to put in place effective enforcement measures now. As the Christian Science Monitor says, the recession is forcing cheerleaders for mass immigration to face the fact that American workers are a majority in all but one job category that "Americans won't do."
