Sen. Schumer Insists Amnesty Possible This Year Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) says he thinks it is possible to push an amnesty bill through Congress this year. After conducting a series of pro-amnesty hearings, Schumer says that the only way to bring illegal immigrants "out of the shadows" is to give them amnesty (aka "path to citizenship").
