If the borders go down as Obama wants ("no walls between natives and immigrants", Berlin), I predict 20 million each from India and China, 50 mil from Latin America - we can reach 400 million by 2012. It is human nature therefore for Blacks to be more comfortable in the company of Blacks, Whites with Whites, Asians with Asians. This is not racist, it’s human nature. That’s why when so many come from so many different places it is essential that we assimilate and form a common bond/identity. That’s why America works; we all agree to become American. So far the melting pot has served us well, for the most part. Why then is the current wave of Hispanic immigrants meeting with such opposition? Simple. They refuse to assimilate. They break the law. It's NOT merely about jobs, folks. The Mexican government is complicit it this endeavor. Mexican consulates actively tutor their citizens who successfully breach the border on ways to elude and avoid detection. The Mexican government has for decades taught school age children as well as others, that theirs is a sense of entitlement to United States territory (In 1845 the U.S. voted to annex Texas, initiating the Mexican War. Under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848, Mexico ceded a vast territory in what is now the western and southwestern U.S.) which is why you see a large influx of immigrants to certain states California (which already has an Hispanic mayor) among the most populous. Mexicans are taught, and are well versed, in the U.S. Constitution and particularly the 14 Amendment which awards automatic citizenship to any one born in the United States.
