More States Get Tough With Illegal Immigrants

"Last month, 260 illegal immigrants in Iowa were sentenced to five months in prison for violations of federal identity theft laws. At the same time, in the last year, local police departments from coast to coast have rounded up hundreds of immigrants for nonviolent, often minor, crimes, like fishing without a license in Georgia, with the end result being deportation," the New York Times reports. "In some cases, the police received training and a measure of jurisdiction from the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement, under a program that lets officers investigate and detain people they suspect to be illegal immigrants. But with local demand for tougher immigration enforcement growing, 95 departments are waiting to join the 47 in the program. And in a number of places, including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, police officers or entire departments are choosing to tackle the issue on their own."

Are we supposed to feel sorry for businesses that can't stay open without lawbreaking illegal employees or can't stay open because they cater to lawbreaking customers? They should be arrested too.

With gas prices rising higher and higher each and every day, we cannot afford to continually pay to deport these criminals. By tougher enforcement of existing laws they will self-deport. Doing this will take them off the welfare rolls, make room for a legitimate emergency in the ER, make room for smaller and more prosperous classrooms. The trickle-down effect will be noticed as cities and counties realize economic savings.

Just another bleeding-heart liberal news article trying to justify the unjustifiable! We read quotes from people like Erika Barraagan (illegal alien) stating, "we're Mexican, they don't want us here"? Well Erika, if your last name was Chang, or O'tool, or Schneider, we still wouldn't want you here. The racist card no longer works, your ILLEGAL, period!!
John Davy, an illegal employer states, they're (illegal aliens) the VICTIMS of a broken system? Well John-boy, the only thing broken about this system is the fact that this idiot president, and worthless Congress have failed to ENFORCE THE LAW!!
We have no pity for businesses that were built on, and catered to illegal alien dollars. They knew going in, that they were wrong, and they neither deserve nor will they get any pity from Americans.

I read the entire NYT article. The "racist" remarks about Walmart are offensive. But racist remarks, albeit distasteful and wrong, are not against the law. People working at Walmart illegally is against the law.

Believe it or not....but Washington,D.C. is the biggest sanctuary city in the USA. All the old neighborhoods look
like some 3rd world knock-off or Mexico. My neighborhood was destroyed when a police officer attempted to arrest a drunken El Salvadorian man for
public intoxication. He pulled out a machete and the officer shot him. That triggered the Mount Pleasant
Riots that lasted one week. Half the signs in D.C. are in Spanish. When the local Best Buy opened up, ILLEGALS got upset and threatened a boycott. The illegals are everywhere you look around D.C. but the last police chief told the city that his men have better things to do than check the immigration status of anyone they pulled over. Come to D.C. and see it for yourself. Forget homeland security. The biggest threat is here in D.C. You don't know who any of these people are. No one is D.C. enforces any immigration laws.

I was watching C-Span this morning and they were debating a bill that would send huge amounts of money to Mexico to combat the drug cartel wars there. How is it that there is always more huge amounts of money to give out to third world cess pools and no money (our own earned middle class money) to spend on programs to help middle class Americans. You can just visualize what happens if a bill is signed to give financial aid to Mexico. Mexico's elite get even more wealthy and middle class America get to financially support millions of illiterate Mexicans. That pinata that is middle class America has been whacked open way to many times- there is nothing left to dole out.
