To FAIR: Can we get a follow-up to this so we can see what has happed/happening to the employer? I would also like to see a further follow-up to the last one with the raid on the kosher meatpacking plant with the several hundred illegals arrested. Since the illegal alien employers evidently always get off on technicalities that I can't figure out, no matter how detailed the excuse is presented to me and how rationale the explainer appears; how does this eliminate the "magnet", the illegal alien organised crime employers? If by illegal alien magnet, the ICE reference meant the past lax enforcement by ICE of illegal aliens; then yes, that magnet appears to be mitigated. Posted by: mrbill on May 16, 2008 10:28 PM You know prsident Bush stated a couple years ago that he would not intercede in the price of gas going up that was when everyone was screaming cause it went to like $2.25 a gal. He said let the market decide the prices(by the way he has to back to his oil producing job when he is finished what a better way to make a ton of cash for his future). Well the same should apply to the work place, there are people that can work at these jobs, anyone on welfare or public assistance should be required to work at any job that is available, and reduce the public assistance after they have worked 6 months, you know it is like an addict you have to wean them slowly from the free money! The illegals come here to suck up as many free services the taxpayers will get soaked for and then send their money out of the country! Since a majority are being exploited by the employers with low wages and I imagine less than friendly work environment and have no legal papers the employer does not have to pay workers comp premiums, social security, federal tax, unemployment tax, or anything else. It's not like the illegals are gonna go to the labor dept and complain. The best and safest thing they can do is start heading for the border, since there are many people that are fed up with not being able to pay their own bills cause they have to pay the money illegals don't pay into the system. It is so ludicrous when the left wing liberals democrats and the hollywood wimps whine and tell us these people ahve social security cards and pay into the system, BS most likely it is a SSN of a dead person or stolen identitiy so the money cannot be legally collected by the government. I remember back in the late 50's early 60's people in many latin countries and other parts of the worls protested and carried signs saying, Yanqi Go Home! Well it is time Latini's GO HOME, the free ride is over for all of us. The nation is going bankrupt paying for free medical treatment, free food, easy money! it is sad when illegals can get money from banks to buy houses and a American citizen has to pledge his first and second born children as collateral. Wake up America! It is time for the people to flush all this political correctness and mamby pamby handling of people that could care less about our Republic and have no vested interest in it other than sucking us dry so they can as I coined the phrase come through "Silent Proliferation" alonfg with Islamic extremists slowly spreading like a cancerous cell or fungus slowly quietly changing our culture to fit their beliefs. By 1989 the Agriculturial Amnesty was so rife with fraud that the INS did not have the resources to check out all the suspected fraudulent amnesty applications. They instead, just approved them all. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the raid did not shut down operations of the company demonstrating again that there are legal workers working alongside of illegal immigrants across the country and once again belying the argument that illegal immigrants do not compete with American workers because they only do jobs that Americans won’t do. The news account cited Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Miguel Unzueta to the effect that the arrests were part of a, “nationwide effort to shut down the employment magnet fueling illegal immigration."
