Los Angeles Study Finds One-Fourth of Welfare Going to Illegal Alien Families
The website of Los Angeles radio station KHTS reports that a new study has found that nearly
twenty five percent of Los Angeles County’s welfare and food stamp benefits goes directly to the children of illegal aliens, at a projected annual cost of $432 million. LA County Supervisor Michael Antonovich commented, “With $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $432 million in welfare allocations, illegal immigration continues to have a devastating impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers.”
(FAIR Comment: This new estimate of the costs of illegal immigration does not include the largest outlay resulting from illegal immigration — the education of their children in public schools including special schooling costs for teaching limited English students.)
