Alabama Senate Committee Approves Proposal Requiring Contractors to Verify Legal Status

By a unanimous vote, an Alabama Senate committee passed a proposal to require employers to verify proof of legal status for each of their employees. AND THIS WILL HELP ALABAMA'S REAL ESTATE MARKET TOO

It will also help raise "wage bases" for local government taxes too. Win/Win on a plethora of fronts.

Glad to see my home state is getting on the bandwagon. Don't worry about the cost of implementing these safeguards - the cost of keeping illegals here far outweighs any cost incurred. Our social services and natural resources will again be reserved for legal, tax-paying citizens.
Let business owners pay fair wage to Americans and we'll once again see the proud "Made in America" label, not "Hecho en Mexico," or Bangledesh or China or anywhere else except the good old USA!
