McCain: Amnesty is a Political Winner "The hot-button issue of immigration doesn’t appear to be going away Comments
THIS PRO-AMNESTY CLOWN WILL JUST NOT GIVE UP... EVEN THOUGH THE MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SPOKE LOUD AND CLEAR, AND KILLED HIS AMNESTY LAST YEAR... HIS GET TOUGH RHETORIC IS ALL B.S.... HE WOULD SIGN AND AMNESTY BILL IN A SECOND, EVEN IF THE BORDERS WERE STILL WIDE OPEN, BECAUSE THAT`S WHAT HE AND THE CORPORATE SLAVE POLITICIANS WANT. Posted by: American Me on March 18, 2008 11:51 AM McCain doesn't get it. And he will 'crack down' on nothing. If elected, he will see it as a mandate in support of his open borders/amnesty position. He cannot see America as anything more than an international bankers ATM machine. It never occurs to those in Washington that the vast majority of citizens see America as our home first, and as an economic engine as a distant second. If the economy should fall, we would still have our home. If in the name of saving the economy, we sell the rights to our home to the UN or J.P. Morgan, we save nothing. If we lose the border states to invasion we lose both the land and our self-respect. If we trade our ethics for illegal alien amnesty and thus anarchy over rule of law, then we lose our souls. America will have no meaning outside of the history books. Keep every elected official focused on the right priorities. Strict adherence to the Constitution is all that is necessary. Besides, its fun to watch politicians squirm when you remind them that we still have a Constitution and they aren't holding up their part of the bargain... defend all of the states from invasion. Remind weasels like McCain they are beholden to that document and the People it serves, not the 'global economy'. Build the wall. Build it twice. Posted by: jeebie on March 18, 2008 12:42 PM It is astounding how stubbornly wrong John McCain continues to be on the immigration issue. He apparently learned nothing when the whole American majority rose up in absolute fury last summer and obliterated his Bush/McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill in its tracks. Posted by: Gary on March 18, 2008 12:54 PM McCain is a fool. Can we get Ron Paul or Romney back in this race? It appears there are no choices for conservative voters this time around. Even if I did vote for McAmnesty...he still does not stand a chance in hell against the Democrats because he is standing too close in the shadow of the Bush administration. Way to blow it GOP...you are screwed for this presidential election. Posted by: HAD IT on March 18, 2008 12:54 PM Sen. Rick Santorum, and Rep. Jim Oberweis did not loose their bids for reelection because of their stand against illegal alien immigration. Several factors were involved in their loosing efforts but, their strong stand against illegal alien immigration was not one of them. McCain is once again trying to put a spin on this issue to help him push his ridiculous amnesty plan. His immense ego will not allow him to except the fact that he is wrong. This character flaw will prove to be extremely harmful if he is elected president. Posted by: Bob Hubble on March 18, 2008 12:58 PM When Democrat Jim Webb beat Republican Harris Miller, an H1-B enthusiast and corporate lobbyist, for the Senate seat in Virginia, Webb ran on the tougher immigration platform. Now his name is bandied around as a possible VP running mate. Webb is a clear winner. There's a fine line here. Harsh rhetoric isn't going to win the crucial center of the debate in the presidential election, but neither is amnesty. McCain has already been forced to run on a "strong borders" platform and Romney, who talked tougher, did extremely well in the popular vote. McCain needs those conservative votes to win. But what if the Democrat Party runs on a platform that's more amenable to the middle class and taxpayers, rather than special interests, on immigration? Would a deciding portion of the GOP abandon McCain and vote Democrat? If so, they could potentially get what they wanted on immigration and force the GOP to rediscover its base. Already, Hillary is winning key swing states, including the Latino vote, by talking about American jobs, wage depression and the need for jobs in Mexico. And pundits such as Pat Buchanan and Ann Coulter have rumbled about possibly choosing Hillary over McCain. John McCain is an aggressive fighter who wants amnesty and has made it clear he will vote for it. Do we want a president who uses his warrior instincts against the interests of his own people? On the immigration issue alone, he deserves to receive a resounding "No, thank you" from the electorate in November. Posted by: Concerned Citizen on March 18, 2008 01:20 PM Thanks to U.S. Senators John McCain and Ron Wyden(and their ilk)---along with U.S. Representatives like Earl Blumenauer----my little town in Oregon has been attacked by vicious MS 13, and other gangs, with spray painted threats----even in a pristine nature area where even rocks are covered with orange, blue, black, and red spray paint
The politicians get their pockets filled with money, and their minds filled with greed and power... The predators get cheap, Mexican/et al slaves... The service unions get pliable minds to exploit... The middle class American pays crushing taxes for schools, hospitals, prisons, and social services to pay for the exploited, cheap, Mexican Indian, slaves---- when they are thrown out on the nearest dirt road----when they can no longer be used.. The police,,,,as usual,,,,"stretched too thin and under-manned" to deal effectively with the onslaught... The choices we have in the next election for President of The United States of America are,,,,,,,,none of the above... I will be more than happy to pay fifty dollars for a head of lettuce,,,if this blight from across the U.S./Mexico border can be abated... I repeat----this is a train wreck... Posted by: T. Jamieson on March 18, 2008 01:23 PM Bush has all the nails set in place on the coffin of middle class America and McCain will hammer them in. McCain says he doesn't know much about economics but he does know that a billionaire-peasant society can be achieved in America and the flood of illegals from all over the third world will quickly achieve that goal. Continual war will fatten the pockets of the oil barons in this country and McCain is their "golden boy" to step in the shoes that Bush will leave (although I don't think we have begun to see the last of Bush even after his term is over). A nationwide shutdown of people refusing to pay taxes or massive work stoppages or lastly revolution are the last remaining options for Americans to reclaim our nation. Posted by: Future Day Laborer on March 18, 2008 02:17 PM It`s just amazing how these open border politicians like McAmnesty, and other pro-illegal loons always jump to the conclusion, that just because a politician who is tough on illegals loses something, that`s always the only reason why. It`s all just more pro-illegal alien propaganda, and what`s even more amazing is that there`s stupid voters who believe their nonsense. Juan McAmnesty and his ilk will flood this country with the third world, and not even care. Get ready for one big flush people. Posted by: Independent on March 18, 2008 03:09 PM Lets all write in the name of somebody else when voting for president. I want to see what McCain says is the reason for his loss. Posted by: marg on March 18, 2008 03:23 PM If republicans, let alone democrats, were as livid about "illegal aliens" as many on this blog would us believe, why did they select John McCain as their standard bearer for 2008? Why didn't Tom Tancredo win the GOP nomination? Why did Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, Ron Paul and ALL the rest of the republicans who thought immigration demagoguery was their ticket to the whites, lose? Oberweis's loss is no fluke, JD Hayworth lost his seat in 2006 spewing immigration demagoguery..in ARIZONA! Randy Graf lost in southern ARIZONA as well! In this post 911 climate, securing the borders is a matter of national security! I mean, how do we know if Al Qaeda operatives are not coming over the border? Granted, the actual 911 terrorists arrived on LEGAL visas and over stayed... IMO; The US should work out a deal with Mexico whereby they patrol THEIR side of the border! After working out issues of corruption, which I realize could take time, the US border patrol could patrol the border in conjunction with Mexico counterparts! IMAGINE if US Border Patrol agents could radio the Mexico side and say; People massing at such ans such location, go check it out! In exchange for this, the US could offer LEGAL work visa for Mexicans designed with the concept of "circular migration" in mind. That means, they come and work (say at a harvest), and then go home. This is the traditional Mexican migration pattern anyway! Also, the US would have to get an AIRTIGHT extradition treaty from Mexico where US criminal warrants are executable ANYWHERE in Mexico with no restrictions placed on whether the fugitive faces life imprisonment or capital punishment...that would be a MINIMUM requirement! Granted, that wouldn't affect the 44% of illegal immigrants that are NOT Mexican, click on origin; http://www.cnn.com/interactive/us/0603/charts.immigration/frameset.exclude.html?eref=yahoo But, it would be one SECURE border for sure! This would benefit BOTH countries as you can see from the fact that Mexico is the USA #2 CUSTOMER! http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/highlights/toppartners.html#exports Mexico pays for the US imports with oil and petroleum; Hillary Clinton promises to seek legalization for the undocumented within the first 100 days of her administration... http://youtube.com/watch?v=uYO0bMqbwpE http://youtube.com/watch?v=dQ6Wq-qExBI John McCain also backs legalization, as we in Arizona all know! http://youtube.com/watch?v=w8WNuoKxr3w http://youtube.com/watch?v=Er3gSPhNSEM Hillary Rodham Clinton = America's first LATINA President! Posted by: Fat Man on March 18, 2008 04:04 PM What does it take for McCain to realize the majority of American voters that are against any form of amnesty will either (1) stay home on election day...or (2) not vote for either either of the presidential candidates on the November ballot. Posted by: McCain is Toast on March 18, 2008 06:49 PM MCCAIN GOT ONE THING RIGHT Amnesty support has big campaign money behind it and the coporate slave owners want their candidates in power. Concerned Citizen, I liked your blog, but I'm an Independent, once Democrat too, and there's one thing wrong with Democrats, they're drones. They'll follow the piped piper over the amnesty cliff and smile. Hillary and Obama for that matter haven't really told us their side of the amnesty issue clearly lately, except they voted for it in the past or were absent too much from the Senate floor and didn't vote at all...lol Posted by: Softwarengineer on March 18, 2008 07:08 PM Softwarengineer, I hear what you're saying. Independents are becoming a powerful force and I think the growing number of Independents serves to put political drones on notice. Posted by: Concerned Citizen on March 18, 2008 08:06 PM Juan McAmnesty told Michiganers that their "..jobs are not coming back..." from Mexico and China and now he's claiming that we need more H1-B's - mostly from India - ostensibly "temporary" tech workers who never leave! The economy is in the toilet, so why aren't the "temps" leaving? Simple: they work cheaper! Greedy corporate moguls like Bill Gates will keep the H1-B's while illegally kicking Americans to the curb. Where is the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to investigate age and racial discrimination? AWOL, along with the entire mis-administration of El Presidente Jorge Boosh! It's an utter surrender in the battle to protect the US middle class. Posted by: Russ G on March 18, 2008 09:31 PM McLame is an idiot who shouldn't be elected dogcatcher, much less President. However, if he plays his cards right and selects Romney while promising on to serve one term, he'll get back some of the conservative votes that won't vote for him otherwise. Posted by: levotb on March 18, 2008 09:59 PM Our only chance to save our country is to vote for Ron Paul. If his name isn't on the ballot then write it in! Posted by: AmericanPatriot on March 18, 2008 10:27 PM I had the suspicion as soon as McCain wrapped up the nomination then he would backpeddle on amnesty. The awful truth America is that Hillary Clinton truly is the lesser of three evils. Obama is probably the worst. That association with his pastor is truly indefensible. I think I might change party affiliation to Democrat so I can vote for Hillary. At least if she is in the White House she will be on a short leash. Posted by: Rev. Clark on March 18, 2008 11:06 PM When those elected to represent the will of the people, instead lie and go to the corrupt representation of special interests, it may be time for the citizens to constitute a citizens Tribunal. That Tribunal, then charged with the consideration of evidence and the authority to bring indictments, must act to address the corruption of the politicians. If indicted, those politicians must be tried in compliance with existing Federal law. If convicted, the same penalty a set forth in the Law, must be levied. Scooter Libby was convictged for lying, is John McCain any less culpable because he is runing for president? Posted by: John on March 18, 2008 11:20 PM What scares me most is the people who are Republicans gave McCain the nomination after all the reasoning done by candidates like Tancredo, Paul and Hunter in the debates. I guess conservatives are very few in this country. Posted by: Glenn on March 19, 2008 12:03 AM McCain's statement can be only compared to an enunciation by a would-be traitor that selling military secrets to an enemy is profitable. (And no, I did not mean to say that McCain was a traitor. He just did not comprehend the consequences of what he called for.) Posted by: A Reader on March 19, 2008 12:37 AM Gary, it is astounding how arrogant this open borders, abolish America , shill for the New World Order, clown is. We need to spread the word to our friends, relatives and others and let them know that this guy hasn't the slightest bit of concern for Americans best interests. "We might be in Iraq for a hundred years"!! He's crazy. Posted by: Bobby on March 19, 2008 12:42 AM Uh, um... 70% of the people say stop illegal immigration w/out amnesty and he pushes forward? What a loser... Posted by: takn on March 19, 2008 03:35 AM There were any of a number of factors that contributed to Foster's defeat of Oberweis apart from immigration. 1). Except for immigration, Oberweis has run as a staunch Loyal Bushie for years. Foster was running as a lets end the Iraq occupation candidate. Oberweis was using the McCain lets stay 10 years or what ever the commanders on the ground say it will take. That is not a position popular in Illinois. 2). Oberweis alienated lots of Republican power brokers in the state and nationally when he broke ranks over immigration. In 2004 Rove and Bush wanted Immigration completely left out of the political debate except for Bush's "Y'all Come" temporary worker scheme. Lets be honest the Illinois Republican party taking directions from Karl Rove stabbed Oberweis in back, almost as badly as the Democrats smeared him, by choicing the carpetbagger Alan Keyes as the nominee when Jim Ryan's candidacy blew up over the Jerry Ryan divorce/sex scandal. Lots of big business Illinois Republicans are still very pro Open Borders and will attempt to sabotage Oberweis at every turn. For instance the conservative Tribune endorsed Foster, while taking sharp jabs at Oberweis over his tough anti-Illegal immigration rhetoric. Meanwhile the more Blue Collar Sun-Times and suburban Daily Herald endorsed Oberweis sighting in part his tough immigration stands. 3). Ben Foster ran as a blue dog. He took as strong a stand against the hiring of Illegal Aliens as Rahm Emmanuel and the DCCC would allow him short of endorsing the Save Act and with out enraging the instate Enthno-Centric open borders lobbies. 4). Foster hurt Oberweis badly over NAFTA. 5). With the Illinois primary occuring less than a month ago and Wisconsins two weeks , Obama had a large organization still moblized to help Foster. Foster ran on Obama "Change" theme. 6). Oberweis's at times combative personality rubs polite midwesterns the wrong way. That said. Over the next 8 months if Foster does not sign on to the Save Act, he will be very vulnerable in the fall. Pro Open Borders Democrats cheering the take over of Hastert's former district should keep that in mind. Foster will face Oberweis again in November. If Liberal Netroots Democrats somehow believe that "CIR" is anything other than the kiss of death in Purple to Red district congressional races, they are delusional. As a lifelong Liberal Democrat who disagrees with his party's leadership's support of Open Borders, I certainly would not interpret Oberweis's defeat as a blanket rejection of his strong Immigration Restrictionist viewpoints. Posted by: llamajockey on March 19, 2008 06:16 AM Check out http://lonewacko.com/blog/archives/007535.html John McCain and the rest of the Open Borders crowd is so full of crap it must be shooting out their ears. Against Oberweis, Foster ran as a Blue Dog Democrat. Foster's stand on immigration was as far to Restriction side of the debate as the the far left wing Illinois Open Border group, the ICIRR and the Obamaniacs would allow. However, Foster dam well knows he is going to face a tougher rematch against Oberweis in November. Turn out should be much stronger in the fall. In the next 8 months, is it remotely conceivable that Foster is going to vote in favor of a Pelosi/Baca/Gutierrez attempt to expand the H1-B & H2-B, pass the Dream Act and attach poison pill admendments to the SAVE act? Because if Foster does so, he can kiss his ass good-bye. The 14th district includes the western halfs of Elgin and Carpentersville which have an exploding illegal alien population problem. Already local county and city boards are considering anti-illegal alien ordinances. So immigration issue is not going away. Foster is in a tough spot. But he has to know that his future in a still Red/Purple district rests on his alligning himself with the Immigration Restrictionist Freshman Democrats like Heath Schuler and Brad Ellsworth. Foster can kowtow to the ICIRR loons and face certain defeat, or he can stand up to them, take the heat like several other Illinois Democrats have already done during the primaries and have a decent chance of winning come November. Painting this election as a major victory for the Open Borders agenda is worse than spin, it is pure BS. Posted by: llamajockey on March 19, 2008 06:27 AM AMERICAN PEOPLE, DO NOT GIVE UP FIGHTING FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND FOR THE FUTURE OF YOUR CHILDREN. EITHER YOU, OR ILLEGALS -- CHOOSE!!!! Posted by: JACK on March 19, 2008 09:24 AM McCain MUST get over his AMNESTY mentality if he hopes to have any chance of receiving support from any conservatives as well as from many other Americans who are opposed to illegal aliens being allowed to cut in line ahead of others who are seeking entry into the U.S. through the established legal channels. Posted by: Ron Etters on March 19, 2008 10:12 AM Actually, Ron Paul IS still a presidential candidate. Not only has he signed FAIR's pledge to resist the invasion of illegal aliens, he has gotten Berneke to admit that the Fed Reserve is not concerned with the value of the dollar. Given Ron Paul's stance on population, economics, and strict Constitutionalism, I'm taking some of the 'stimulus package' money and donating it to his campaign. That will be an unmistakable statement even Juan McAmnesty will understand. Posted by: exquisitor on March 19, 2008 03:17 PM |
