Bill Gates, Corporations Lobby for H-1B Increase "The April 1 deadline and an election year have given American industry This post at Old Atlantic Lighthouse points out that Virginia's senators should oppose an H-1B increase. "There is no reason we need to import any nurses or doctors into this country. This has to stop. Senators need to learn loyalty to this country. We see your handiwork when we go to INOVA [Virginia Hospital] and get 3rd world medicine. We get the wrong drugs and the long waits because of immigrants, legal and illegal. We are not being fooled by you because we experience it with our own eyes and feel the pain ourselves or see it in the eyes of our family members. You need to stop pushing us down by H-1B and legal immigration and amnesties." Comments
So of course he must have foreigners...our education systems are so abysmal... Is that why his recruiters regularly scour college campuses in this country to find suitable candidates before they return to their home countries? Mr. Gates, you should be ashamed. You have more money than God, yet you're the cheapest bastard on the planet...hoping to nab cheap labor over capable US citizens in the same field, the same colleges... Sickening. Posted by: Independent on March 5, 2008 12:23 PM Through the use of profane and vile language Mr. takn has aptly demonstrated the present standard of US education system which fails to even inculcate basic etiquette in its citizens. One has to visit the college campuses around the country to see what is happening. Students flocking to the bars even on weeknights completely neglecting their studies. American management students not opting for finance, logistics and supply chain management because they have to study the dreaded subject 'Maths'. Engineering enrollment at an all time low because of the lack of challenging spirit prevailing in the current American generation. Of course the bigots on this forum will be able to quickly point out that it was caused by illegal immigrants. Even Lockheed,Raytheon and Boeing, the American defence giants have started advocating faster permenant residency programs for foreign gradutes so that they can get access to top talent. Also when I say top talent that does not include data entry technicians and software programmers, those semi skilled jobs have been outsourced anyways. What the industry today is demanding is advanced degrees in micro-electronics, bio sciences, genetics engineering, aerospace technology, advance material engineering, sophisticated computer algorithms and other specialized fields. So stop dishing out crap and accpet the fact that the current generation of Americans is lazy and America has to rely on foreign talent to keep their economy moving. Our government, their enablers. Meth heads trying to justify their next immigration 'fix'. Our economy does not require any immigration at all. Zero. This is all about greed, nothing more. Greed in the hearts of the employers, and the desperate masses of aliens they would import. Endless hunger for profit without regard for the consequences to our environment. Without regard for the available resources of food, water, medicine or energy. Without regard for a sustainable economy or the well being of the American People. Rehab, or cold turkey, either choice is fine with me.

FAIR can have it ahead of time: Wednesday, March 5, 2008 REGARDING, “NIGHTMARE ON MAIN STREET” [March 10]: I have never read so many lame brain excuses over the cause of the current housing bust in the last six months, when its obvious to me the root cause was unplanned overpopulation growth in America, with subsequent wage mitigation. It may have looked good to a lot of Americans to see unplanned American population growth with simultaneous sky-rocketing home inflation prices; but with all this short sighted greed blinding us, we forgot to notice the party’s suddenly done, wages have mitigated with overpopulation competition and there’s now a terrible piper to pay to bail this mess out. I noticed in 1990, America was overpopulated at 250 million people, yet gas was like under a buck a gallon and homes were about 1/3 the cost today, in approximate 2008 dollars too. Since then, we’ve added 25-45% people to America on a linear legal/illegal immigration population growth curve since 1990, clearly causing an exponential inflation growth of approximately 200%. I’d call population growth linear and the inflation it causes horrifyingly exponential. America’s wages did not go up even half the real core inflation rate since 1990; if you take housing costs, energy, college education, food, medical expenses, etc, etc into the equation. That’s why we’re in this mortgage mess. Its greed and uncontrolled legal/illegal immigration population growth. We need a break from immigration population growth in America now, or we’ll fall like Rome. If America can show the rest of the world how to depopulate as soon as possible, our example may likely be the world’s inflation cure too, assuming they follow our scientific environmental lead. A common tactic used in the early days was to fly in engineers from the east coast and offer them wages that were not commiserate to what they were already making and therefor, were able to tell local politicians that they could not find qualified worker so they had to be able to bring in foreign help. Bill Gates, and the rest of the rat-pack running Silicon valley are now in a position of wealth and power and have many local and state politicians in their pockets. Judging by the screen names, I have good reason to believe that legalimmigrant and some of the other arrogant H1B people who post here are part of an unsavory group called Immigration Voice. This and other changes that the IV group supports would allow far greater numbers of third world foreign workers to easily and quickly attain permanent residence in America. They have even hired professional K Street lobbyists to help them accomplish this goal. Several of the H1Bers I work with are members of the Immigration Voice group, and they regularly talk about re-making society and the corporate culture in America to their liking. Most of them want to get green cards and eventually move into management so they can set their own rules for who gets hired and fired. TRANSLATION: THEY WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO APPROVE AS MANY GREEN CARDS AS POSSIBLE SO THEY CAN IMPORT AS MANY OF THEIR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES AS POSSIBLE TO ELIMINATE AMERICANS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF PROFESSIONS – NOT JUST HIGH TECH! Remember that H1B is a dual intent visa. That means the foreign workers can apply for a green card while they are here on H1B. Once they get the green card, then they become permanent residents and are almost impossible to deport. MORE GREEN CARDS MEANS MORE ECONOMIC DISPLACEMENT AND MISERY FOR MILLIONS OF AMERICAN WORKERS AND MORE LOST CAREERS FOR AMERICAN COLLEGE STUDENTS. They are stealing our future from our kids!! My son is on the Dean's list his first year of college studying Physics and Engineering--plus he had a 5.0 in high school yet he was overlooked for grants and Aid yet students of with lessor grades recieved full rides. It is no wonder why the quality of people holding positions is questionable! They should not even have those positions. Bill Gates just wants to collect as much money and power as possible to feed his lifestyleand ego ! Please leave the USA as soon as possible because there are a million more young people who came from your beginnings with the smarts to carry on after you leave. The company I used to work for was constantly bringing in a supply of H1B Visa holders after laying off BETTER qualified American employees. They bring in these H1B visa holders at half the rate or lower what an American was being paid. That's what this is all about. The CEO's get bigger bonuses for keeping cost down and on paper it looks good but in reality it doesn't save a dime. I lost count of how many projects I had to take back from H1B Visa holders and contractors in India because of the quality of work being delivered. I could do nothing but laugh when management was wondering why they couldn't get projects out on time. To be blunt Raj I have yet to meet any H1B Visa holders who had 1% of the talent I've seen let go by my ex company in the pursuit for bigger profits. Eventually I hope to see American workers come together and stop supporting companies who outsource our jobs. companies receive if they are outsourcing jobs. Microsoft founder Bill Gates is among industry chiefs headed for Capitol Hill to lobby for this increase. Alongside, Compete America, a coalition of industry, research and education institutions, have also begun pitching for an increase in the annual quota," India's Economic Times reports. "Experts say as this is an election year, not merely the presidential race, but also for the Congress, the industry may be able to persuade lawmakers to actively consider an increase. There are also reports of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus introducing a new immigration reform bill. This would focus on illegal immigrants, but hike in H-1 B numbers could be tacked along as well."
