Immigration is Still the Big Issue, Says Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh tells listeners that immigration is still among the top political issues this year, despite denials by pro-amnesty commentators. "So here we go, once again the open borders crowd is telling all of us who opposed amnesty that we're racists, this in the form of the Wall Street Journal. Now, let me ask Miss Rosales this question. If immigration is no longer a hot-button issue, why did Congress practically fall all over themselves to shut down any loophole that would have allowed illegals to get a rebate from the stimulus package? The answer is they knew that if illegals got a rebate check in the stimulus package, it would torpedo the whole thing," Limbaugh said.

"Let's take this a little further and let's take Miss Rosales' piece to the presidential campaign. McCain now says he gets it, that we were right, we need border security first and all that. He says if the bill came back before his desk again, though, he would sign it. But he said we're past that point. But he would sign amnesty if it came across his desk as president. So McCain's out there saying he gets it, he understands now how fervently anti-amnesty people are, that we were right on border security and we're going to do border security first. They don't even acknowledge the facts on the ground now. They're obsessed with amnesty and open borders, and they're writers for Big Ag here at the Wall Street Journal. But point of this is that McCain's supporters don't even believe what he's telling voters now. They know he supports amnesty and open borders, and that's why they support him."

Gotta respect Rush for standing his ground as a true conservative against attacks from party hacks like Bob "Viagra" Dole. This takes guts and integrity, and I hope Rush's rewarded with higher ratings and greater influence from the new, emerging GOP. Not the one that's desperate to cede the presidential election by nominating a mean, nasty old bureaucrat that no one except his cronies likes.

I've started tuning into Rush again after a long hiatus. While I don't agree on many thing, naturally, when you know a guy speaks with conviction it's worth hearing him out. I also think Rush made a great call on Mitt Romney, who remains the best Republican contender and the only one who can both solidify his base and win over Democrats. Not that Huck's a bad guy in my opinion, but his appeal is more in the south. If Mitt can win in Massachusetts, bringing good jobs and health coverage to the state, there's Democrat appeal, after all.

Interesting thing about Mitt Romney: a friend of mine who previously liked Obama as an agent of change told me last night she actually likes Romney now. She said he's a genuinely talented leader and a good man of faith. But she lamented "they're beating him up" and "he has the merit but they (the GOP brass) probably won't give him the power." Indeed.

Of course, it'll be tough for any Republican to win this year, so maybe conservatives can console themselves by "re-registering as conservatives," as a I heard Hannity say on the air, then watch the fun as McCain takes the fall in a possible landslide (especially if conservatives pile on), humiliating himself in front of the whole country and cleaning RINOs out of office. Conservatives could, at that point, pick up the pieces and rebuild their party.

Or maybe Mitt and Huck will strike a deal and potentially make this race more interesting.

Unfortunately, Mitt has just suspended his campaign so now we will have to look elsewhere.

THE DUMBED DOWN OPEN BORDER NUTS MANAGEMENT FORGET ONE KEY ISSUE FOR THE MCCAIN RNC ECONOMIC DESTRUCTION PLATFORM

Unemployment is now running at 350K filings per week, you brainless open border outsourcing buffoons, I'll do the math for you [I assume none of you know math and science very well]:

52 weeks per year x 350,000= 18,000,000

That's right, 18M Americans filing for unemployment this year alone; assuming the pace doesn't worsen, then its more than 18M. We don't need overpopualtion immigration; we need to replace you open border loons with real management that can multiply and do math again.

See the proof:

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080207/economy.html

At this rate, the "international stocks" won't have any American buyers and the -12% they've lost so far this year is just a drop in the open border nut's barrell. To think those open border loons thought the rest of the world was immune from a collapse of America's economy, its just the opposite [at least the American stocks are only -7% so far this year].

So Romney drops out of the race. That means its McCain. Now it will be a contest between whether the republicans or democrats can pass the mother of all immigration bills. Here comes the North American Union and out goes the middle class. A darkness has descended upon America.

really so why is MCAMNESTY the nominee I presume it is because of the support that people Like Rush gave to this stupid war not being in line with the interests of middle America

Like most republicans being cheated in the primaries, It appears that the best solution in November is checking the box for none of the above. As a republican I am appalled that our congress has allowed Illegal Immigration to get out of control. I fact its more like a full scale invasion of our country and our rule of law.
The entire pro-amnesty congressmen are coming out of the woodwork to be a part of endorsing McCain’s. (Lindsey Graham, Mel Martinez etc) I really believe that the moderates and independents voting for McCain were Democrats and Illegal Aliens.
They have the forged drivers licenses etc and are using them to vote. As they have stated today we march tomorrow we vote and they are doing just that.

McCain cannot pass Amnesty for Illegal aliens alone. He needs the help of liberals to get a majority in congress. Our only chance in November is to kick out the pro-amnesty congressman to even the playing field, if not the American
way of life will be lost for our future generations. The liberals are already attacking our free speech rights and soon talk radio will be history if we don’t stay on the offensive. Lou Dobbs is already a casualty of CNN and other pro amnesty groups as his show is now just a newscast.
