Romney Says Thompson "Freddy Come Lately" on Illegal Immigration
"So during the years we are talking about I was fighting to protect legal
immigration and end illegal immigration. Sen. Thompson as I recall was a United States senator. What was he doing on this issue when he was in the Senate? I think he's a Freddy come lately to the immigration issue and I think my record as someone who has fought to protect legal immigration but to stop illegal immigration stands up against anybody's in the country," says Mitt Romney of former Sen. Fred Thompson. "Romney reiterated his proposal to reign in federal funding to sanctuary cities, and added, he was glad Thompson had 'bought on to the view that I espoused.' Romney later gave credit to Rep. Tom Tancredo for the original idea."

Notice my former Governor's little caveat: "fighting to protect legal immigration".
Since I speak both English and Mass-hole, I'll translate: 'I'll raise legal immigration limits to match the illegal flood you're getting now so my fellow venture capitalists will get cheap labor and American taxpayers will pay for their healthcare, welfare and all their children just like right now, except you can't deport 'em if they commit a crime'.
NONE OF THE ABOVE
If a candidate wasn't actively supporting legal laws in America, especially immigration ones, a year or two, they're not to be trusted in my book.
Kind of cleans out 100% of all the Dem/Rep front runners to date, doesn't it. Makes you wonder who or what pocket book picked them in the first place.
Being historically wishy washy or mute about our Constitutional Laws' enforcement is a giant red flag!
I'm pleased that Thompson is at least speaking like this now, even if belatedly -- while still watching him closely on this issue. His pollster said this recently (as posted in the National Review Online):
"Immigration is big; it's the driving issue," McLaughlin said. "The mainstream media ran down our immigration plan last week, saying it was unrealistic and too tough. Our voters love it. We've gotten nothing but positive response."

p.s. The AgJOBS amnesty may/will be rearing its ugly head next week. Please call the Senate to urge senators to oppose the AgJOBS amnesty.
I strongly support Duncan Hunter, and except for hisill-considered threat to bomb Mecca, after a U.S. attack by any Moslims, I also strongly support Tom Tancredo!
That being said they are each running between 1 and 2 % in the polls. Assuming they are actually growing slowly, I will be long dead before either catches up with the best "first tier guy", Fred Thompson. It is faulty logic to assume that Fred Thompson has harbored pro-illegal sentiments within the last 5 years. He has been off the public stage, after leaving office. When you are considering a run for the POTUS postion you go through the issues and take a potion. From the get go,more than a year ago, Fred Thompson has been talking like Hunter or Tancredo. Lately he spelled it out in great detail. Since he has ten times the following, of Hunter or Tancredo, who else should we vote for. Being anti-Thompson smells like a shilling position for liberal rival, RUDY GIULIANI ! Is that the reason you don't support the only anti-illegal conservative among the front-runners? You "PURIST" guys might as well campaign for Rudy or the "Witch"!
Maybe a lot less talking and whole lot more action by everyone running for president is what we need. The pissing contest is getting real old.
SWE, that is exactly right. The maxim that says, past performance is an indication of future performance, applies here.
When all is said and done, A lot more gets said than gets done. Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter are the only candidates that have actually been doing anything. Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo have stood up for the border agents. They passed a bill in the house to prevent tax-payers money from being used to keep the agents incarcerated. They both oppose sanctuary cities, They have both worked to pass H.R.4437 and other legislation. As far as the rest, They say a lot and don't get anything done. That is why they should be suspected of being under the control of those that are furthering the agenda of the North American Union, New World Order, etal. Guiliani is still working with his law group which is writing contracts for a Spanish construction company to control the tolls when the NAFTA Superhighway is completed. Why hasn't Giuliani been forced to talk about this?
How does Romney's position square with the fact that LDS leadership supports a wide open border?
Once again, I will point out that the MSM simply reflects the corporatist/fascist/socialist open border agenda and the fact that both Thompson and Romney are media darlings is very strong evidence that their new tough talk on immigration is understood to be nothing but pandering.
Those of us who have thoroughly researched the open border agenda understand that it is has been well organized and controlled by financial and political elites for several decades. These same elites are not going to allow any serious candidates a public forum if they haven't already signed on to the Establishment's agenda.
Neither Romney nor Thompson have ever attempted to publicly expose or derail the North American Union or any form of internationalism that undermines national sovereignty. This should be a major litmus test for those of us who work towards serious immigration reform.
I am not a fan of political Kabuki theater and this business of bogus political jousting between the "front runners" is getting very tiresome.
It is time for a very different paradigm to take hold.
thompson has an arab pro open borders former BUSH crony named SPENCER ABRAHAM with him nothing will change , only tancredo, hunter, AND POSSIBLY THE LIBERTARTIAN pauL WILL SAVE THIS COUNTRY.
Cynthia is right about the LDS being big on Mexico, it is in fact the nation they try hardest to convert, along with island nations in the Pacific Ocean. Thats where lots of Mormon teens do the mission service. Thompson is no MORMON! Thompson is ten times the conservative Republican that RUDY GIULIANI is! Why don't you mention the wonderful RUDY who will win if Cynthia has her way! Those who knock Thompson don't have the ba--- to say who they actually like! None of the Democrats running will be better than Thompson! State the name of the Republican...or will you have to admit you are pushing the nutsy candidacy of RON PAUL??? I am a Duncan Hunter guy who will swing over to Thompson if Hunter can't reach 7% by the first of the year...what is unreasonable in that???
