About That Misleading NYT Poll "As opponents from the right and left challenge an immigration bill before "This [poll] ignores the actual alternative to amnesty, newly embraced by George Will and Peggy Noonan, which is to enforce the law and permit the illegal population to decline through attrition. My research director talked to a pollster a few weeks back at a major polling organization about this specific issue, and that guy said they just read the newspapers to see what they should ask people about, and all he'd seen in the papers was politcians offering the choice between amnesty and mass deportations," notes CIS executive director Mark Krikorian. This is what the left wing pro-illegal crowd does... They manipulate polls too their liking, it`s either one or the other, then they say see the American people want a path to citizenship for illegals... It`s all b.s. and word games just like the amnesty bill itself... 1 or 2 pro-illegal polls give the illusion of amnesty, while all the other polls show secure the border, enforce existing immigration law, and NO AMNESTY overwhelmingly. Posted by: American Me on May 25, 2007 04:09 PM This is why everyone must call their representatives' offices and voice their desire for enforcement/attrition. We also need to make it crystal clear that if Congressmen vote Yea on amnesty, we will generate petition drives and vote them out of office in 2008. This needs to be emphatic and unambiguous. Posted by: Concerned Citizen on May 25, 2007 06:01 PM Go to Send a Brick.com and not only send emails, letters and phone calls to your representative but send them a brick. A brick is harder to just hit delete or throw away. Posted by: CJBL on May 25, 2007 06:28 PM The next New York Times Immigration poll: 1. What should be done with undocumented immigrants, including women and children, when they are caught crossing the American border? a. They should be shot at b. They should be given work permits and temporary Z visas. 2. What should be done with undocumented immigrants, including women and children, when they are caught on minor violations of the American law? a. They should be executed on the spot right where they were caught. b. They should be given all the assistance they need, so that they don't have to break the law anymore. 3. What should be done with undocumented immigrants, includeing women and children, when they are protesting enforcement of the U.S. immigration law and clash with police? a. They should be shot at b. They should be offered full citizens rights, including the right to elect governments of their nationality. 4. What should be done with undocumented immigrants, including women and children, who openly demand that white Americans be sent back to Europe and the U.S. territory be returned to Mexico? a. They should be jailed without due process, indefinitely. b. They should be given their land back. 5. What is your opinion about the U.S. immigration policy? a. It should be replaced with mass genocide of all non-white would-be immigrants, including women and children. b. It's racist because it discrimninates against Latino immigrants (for otherwise, how would you explain that only 2/3 of all immigrants are Latinos?). The choice is almost the same as the choice we had in year 2000 when a goron (err, moron) was runing against the bonehead. No wonder why the majority of respondents have chosen answer b. Posted by: A Reader on May 26, 2007 06:51 AM Who did they poll -- the illegals?!!! Posted by: Faye on May 26, 2007 11:20 AM lol every poll that disagrees with your view point must be wrong. has it occured to u most americans are not immigration hawks like you guys are?? Posted by: joe on May 26, 2007 02:34 PM Call? Hell I have been calling, and e mailing and this week I went in person. I recommend it, the constituent affairs person said, "it's so unusual for some one to stop in person.." I makes an impression. Posted by: arthur on May 27, 2007 10:14 PM They need to see the new NewsMax poll that show only 4% favored the senate immigration bill. With another question asking what they thought about the way the president was handling border security and immigration and 29% said bad and 59% said very poor. So 88% think he's doing a lousy job when it comes to immigration. There were over 100,000 people who responded to the poll. Posted by: Phil on May 28, 2007 04:23 AM That poll is a load of crap. It wouldn't be the first time that the New York Time lied to the public. Posted by: Kris on May 28, 2007 07:08 PM The people who promoted illegal immigration (Kennedy, Bush, and friends) are now in charge of fixing it. Alternative suggestions are not acceptible. The cycle is almost complete and soon it can begin again for the next crowd of illegal aliens. It has been "a very American coup", using politics, numbers, manufactured "rights", and arrogance to overthrow the American people. They could replace this bill with one equivalent sentence: "Latin America will be in charge of immigration policy." Posted by: James on May 29, 2007 08:09 AM NO AMNESTY! NO SURRENDER! DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS BACK! FINE THEM AND CLOSE THE FENCE!!! Posted by: jack on May 29, 2007 08:51 AM Any poll can be manipulated to lean in the desired direction. Posted by: takn on May 29, 2007 10:07 AM ITS LIKE GIVING US A CHOICE: WOULD YOU LIKE NO SOCIAL SECURITY OR THE CURRENT $13 TRILLION INDEBTED ONE? Of course we'd pick the indebted one. How about a Social Security outside of the general tax fund [as before] with a retirement surplus for the Middle Class? This one we'd pick slam dunk, but they'd never poll us that way. These polls are a piece of dung. These shyster pollsters never asked America if we wanted all this slave labor OVERPOPULATION added the last couple decades quickening the destruction of Social Security, of course "We the People" would say no!!! See the proof: http://www.socialsecurity.org/reformandyou/faqs.html Posted by: Softwarengineer on May 29, 2007 12:57 PM As pointed out by others, in Question 74 of the New York Times CBS Poll, 69 percent of what were judged usable respondents said that illegals should be prosecuted and deported. Links and more info at link at my name. Posted by: Old Atlantic on May 29, 2007 02:22 PM AOL did a poll, asking "Should illegal immigrants be given a chance at citizenship?" and 70% of respondents said no, about 6% unsure, and 24% were for it. The number of people responding was 135,977. AOL always mentions the caveat that their polls are not scientific (because they are capturing not a random sample, but people interested in the topic), but in reality an election is not 'scientific' either. The turnout is typically from the people who are most interested. Posted by: Marianne on May 29, 2007 03:37 PM This point needs to be driven home again and again. The politicians refuse to acknowledge their is any other alternative than what they propose.Enforce the laws already there. They have never been legitemately enforced and Washington has made a mess. The government has made it convenient for the illegals to live here. Why do they have driving license? Why do they have access to government programs? Why isn't an illegal arrested when they are found with false documents or apply for a government program? Posted by: Buddy Jones on May 29, 2007 04:27 PM |
