What would make me feel more comfortable is having a 'cap' on these Z-visas. Is there even a concept of having a limit to the number of these quick amnesty cards? For example, given the estimate of illegal aliens at 12 million, would the number of Z-visas be limited to 12 million? If, by some strange twist of fate, the number of illegal aliens has been underestimated (perish the thought), and the number is closer to 30 million, would 30 million Z-visas be issued?

We're all worried about our domestic jobs' futures and rosey globalist news or cheap labor coming in doesn't mean manufacturing in America is rosey with reduced foreign deficits. Not at all.

Are we employing the illegal aliens to make American automobiles, appliances, computers, solar cells, nuclear power plants, wind generators, etc??? No, we import or don't make most if not all of this.

Then what are they really good for? Oh, they're good for sucking our social services dry. They keep rich elite in cheap slave labor, so our ghost unemployment rate can't get decent wages.

A $2.5 Trillion vacuum cleaner on our Social Security system by granting amnesty of the 12 million illegal aliens would in simple terms, bankrupt the Middle Class' retirement program ASAP.

Do these buffoons care?

There has been talk about politicians being "fooled" into believing there is good in this bill. Anyone with half a brain can tell there is no good at all in this bill. Any congressman that goes along with this is nothing but a traitor. I already ripped on my congressmen, as both morons voted yes on cloture this past Monday.
Judging by their voting habits, they must be on the Mexican government payroll.

Most of the politicians in Washington (and ALL of them who participated in the behind-closed-door) "negotiations" of this idiot agreement should be impeached immediately, thrown out of office and tried on treason charges for not fulfilling their sworn duty as an elected official.

Here is what " We the People" want you (the elected leaders who are supposed to represent us) to do about illegal immigration. Here is the easy solution to illegal immigration. Heavy consequences for those who break the law. This is plain and simple. Set a deadline. Six months, maybe a year, to leave our country if you are illegally here. After the deadline, if you are here illegally, have tent cities built and time will be served in these places for up to a year,(make this very unpleasant so they won't come back again) and then deportation. It may take years, but to coin a phrase from the NIKE ads "just do it", and word will get out that it would be better to just leave than do the time in detention. Employers of illegals get immediate jail time. Right now, there are no consequences for breaking our laws, only benefits. This has got to stop. Once the consequences are known and established, illegal immigration will stop. This is so simple, and yet the Powers that Be won't do it. The only anmesty they get is the time it takes to get their affairs in order and leave the country before the deadline to leave is inacted. That is the only amnesty we Americans want to see.

I agree, there is nothing in this unbelievably flawed bill that I like. It just gets worse and worse the more you read the details.

All I can say is, keep the pressure on both Senators and House members! Get in their faces over the Memorial Day weekend. It's FAR from over. IF this makes it past the Senate, we'll fight the traitors tooth and nail in the House.

There is nothing more frustrating to me than the condition of outr southern border. I am a member of the Air Force and I am working in Iraq/Afghanistan/Djibouti to defend my country from the spread of terrorism but our government officials are doing everything that they can to open the doors for it.

This amnesty bill is indeed comprehensively bad, much like the 1986 "designed to fail" amnesty bill.

Flashback time. Here is what Senator Pete Domenici (R-New Mexico) said right after the 1986 amnesty was passed:

"The bill..is an invitation to fraud and abuse, an invitation to disaster. It just won't work," he said.

How right he was was. Call his office (202-224-6621) and tell him this 2007 amnesty bill is even worse, and to vote against its final passage!

Further evidence how "comprehensively bad" this amnesty scheme is:

In the 1986 amnesty, the government offered legal status to aliens who entered the US illegally before Jan. 1, 1982 and had continuously resided in the US since that time. AND the bill said that for five years they would not be eligible for welfare, food stamps, and most other federal benefits.

NOW for the proposed 2007 amnesty, "the bill grants amnesty to virtually all of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the country today...To initially qualify for a Z visa, an illegal alien need only have a job (or be the parent, spouse, or child of someone with a job) and provide two documents suggesting that he or she was in the country before JANUARY 1, 2007." In other words, presumably those who illegally entered our country ONLY A FEW MONTHS AGO get amnesty!

This bill is nothing but a red herring to see how much the public will take! Make sure a huge noise is made to renounse this nonsense! There are so many consequences of illegals in the country that NO bill can cover the massive problem. This is why BUSH & foreign interests are requiring COMPREHENSIVE coverage. Bush wants the SPP/NAU and is a global utopian worshipper. Bush and AG demonstrate everyday a DO NOTING attitude while protraying themselves on TV as upholding the law. The Bush/AG group can talk all they want to but the actions are just NOT there!

In the Congress a Rep. is free to revise and extend their
comments. I feel I have to do that regarding my TRIAGE approach to Amnesty & Deportation, from early this week.

I suggested the TRIAGE approach, because I BELIEVE
MOST OF THE PRESENT ILLEGALS CAN BE SENT HOME.

I consider a big long DOUBLE FENCE with a roadbed
between for BORDER PATROL vehicles, to be absolutely critical, to control the border.
I suggest 1200 to perhaps 1500 miles are actually practical, in terms of terrain.

In order to get that longer fence approved, I suggest it be package with the ONLY TRUE AMNESTY I'm willing to go with. That would cover families with two or more ANCHOR babies over 10 years of age, and Parents having a record as never being in jail for more than 30 total dayseach, in that 10 year or longer period. This would cover the HYPOTHETICAL good family people,who have been here for years. Granted, they "sneaked-in", but Clinton and BOOSH abetted them greatly! If we get the PRECIOUS 1500 miles of good fence, I'm willing to AMNESTY JUST 1000 "less offensive" illegals having kids in school, for each actual built mile of fence. That would allow 1,500,000 illegals to get a path to a green card. THAT IS THE END OF ANY AMNESTY IN OUR PROBABLE LIFE TIMES! The rest must begin to go back to Mexico or wherever. The deportations would be carried out in a humane way. All who register and submit to "BIO-METRIC" identification will be allowed to remain for at least one year, but are legally ordered, to
self-deport, and work only for registered labor-contractors in agriculture, construction, or warehouse work. No self employment , and a $1000 flat fee deduction from their wages annually,for administration costs. The first 3,000,000 volunteer to go, would recieve a $10,000 cash incentive, and would start leaving within months. Each year, thereafter, a lottery would select 3,000,000 more deportees. A Constitutional amendment would cancel the notorious "anchor
baby" reading of the fourteenth amendment, so that only children over eight years of age, within the
families of the deportees, would qualify at 18, if
born here. They would have to leave with parents
if deported, but would enjoy some reasonable preference in future green card applications, if under the 8 year age limit.
The same 1,500,000 figure would simultaneously apply to criminals who would be deported along
with the first 3,000,000, making a total of 4,500,000 deportations in the first year. As a related issue, if we are going to tinker with the Constitution, let us change Senate terms to two or three FOUR YEAR TERMS. They have to listen more to the electorate in the 21st century. That's largely why we now face this horrible situation. Enough is "Enough"! They become petty "PRINCLINGS", within a democracy, otherwise. That pretty much states my position on the AMNESTY issue..

What the American people want is a serious curtailment of immigration, particularly by illegals, security of our borders and enforcement of our current immigration laws. No one, and I do mean no one I've talked to, wants to be kicked in the face by this joke of a Senate "compromise." The only people who think this solution is good, are many of the idiots in Congress and illegals. Go back to square one, Congress, back to square one.
