Shredded: Bank of America Protest in San Diego

"A local radio show wants people to shred their Bank of America credit cards to protest the bank’s decision to offer credit cards to illegal immigrants. A credit card shredding party was held in front of the KOGO studios in Serra Mesa. Bank of America said the credit card is open to people without a Social Security number or credit history as long as they have had a checking account with the bank for three months," San Diego 10News reported.

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the great showing on Friday past as we shred our Bank of America plastic cards in rebellion against giving credit cards to illegals and/or terrorists without valid and/or proper I.d. that is required of USA citizens. A score of folks showed up to shred…some who have had B of A accounts for 30 years and longer, others who have passed more than a million dollars thru their B of A account last year. We even had folks sell off their B of A stock," says Jimmy Valentine of the Roger Hedgecock show.

Update: An active duty solider emailed and said that the US government should have considerable leverage over the Bank of America and should be able to influence the bank to stop issuing credit cards to illegal aliens. B of A has a contract with the Department of Defense that allows Bank of America to issue Visa credit cards to members of the military for official travel expenses.
