I watch LOU every night. If I can't see it I tape it! He is the best. The rest can go hang!!! If only our government would listen to HIM and THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, this country might not be going down the toilet. I arrested 8 illegals today and processed them for deportation. Could have gotten more if it were not for all the paperwork we have to do on each one and get jail space which is like pulling teeth, and set them up with a court date with an Immigration judge. Another waste of taxpayers money. Illegal is Illegal. Tommorrow i'll get more, and by the way, when asked, they all say the same thing. Whipple and add it to his Lou's Books list. He should also talk about the book on-air; Oprah should not be the sole T.V. personality launching books in this country. This is a brand-new immigration novel, wherein "common folk" skewer the arguments of the open borders elites while standing up for their jobs and way of life. Although it's loaded with intellectual insights, the book is written in plain, countrified English. 100 years ago, Upton Sinclair's The Jungle created a firestorm of public debate and led to real reforms. A novel like this is precisely how our movement can grow and reach new people who initially only wanted a great read. Amazon's pairing the book with Dostoevsky's Demons and a winner of the Man Booker Prize (Banville's The Sea); it's a great read. They are the warts on my butt, and that is giving them more credit than they deserve. They are now in groups of their own and they aren't intimidated by anything. They shoved an old lady right on the ground in front of me in Wal-Mart last weekend. I think the public loves Lou Dobbs because he is one of the few who has the courage to speak the common-sense that immigration is destroying our country. Of course, it is sheer common sense that immigration, by increasing the population load on a nation which has fixed resources in land, water, and employment, creates overcrowding, congestion, pollution, water-shortage, unemployment, inflation, housing-shortages, poverty, cultural conflict and fragmentation, crime, violence, terror and is the root cause of budget deficits, job insecurity and of most of America's and Europe's problems. But But this is just simple common-sense based on the basic law of demand and supply--more people means less space and less resources per person. More people mean more workers and less wages. I think real conservatives ("far right") do not hate Lou Dobbs--they love him. The far right is all for banning immigration. The alienists call patriots who want to ban immigration and control the "free trade" racket "Protectionists". Some libbarbarians are so depraved, they call patriots "racists". I would like to turn around and call these thugs "Destructionists" instead, because If the alienist accuses patriots such as the Minutemen, etc. of being "racists", I ask The "right" unfortunately has been infiltrated by alienists. Knowing that conservatism is popular with the public, some left-wing alienists have infiltrated the Republican party to destroy it by infiltrating it. Snooker Glen is witty and filled with lively characters, so it's not the kind of chore often associated with required reading. Only Snooker's focus on current issues (immigration reform, coal mine safety) make it reminiscent of The Jungle. A wire and steel fence that stops illegals from bringing drugs and people in, just like they have in Calif. The Congress voted it in, now the traitors are trying to get rid of it. It's better to build it and use it than risk not building it and letting in hundreds of terrorists, and South American gang members. Congress cannot vote something in just to calm us down and then refuse to do it later. There are a couple of things I do find fault with Dobbs on, however. I think he gives an over simplistic view of outsourcing as being entirely negative. And, he refers to China as "communist China", which is not at all accurate any more. Sure the party that calls itself the communist party runs China, but it runs China as a predominately capitalist economy. One could make a case that the United States is more communist than China is today.
You bet they don't. Who wants to work in a sweatshop for 50 cents an hour? The U.S. achieved its prosperity from the hard work of its citizens and legal immigrants. Does our government not have some moral obligation to see that some of the fruits of that success are used to provide economic opportunity to the descendants of those Americans? Mr. Dobbs has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Harvard University, as well as many years of experience with investments and financial issues, so I'm sure he understands economics. He just happens to be one of the few people in the media or government who remembers that the USA is a NATION, not just an economy. He does appeal to "fearful viewers" who are intelligent enough to fear that the US is being destroyed by self-serving politicians and corporate greed (sending jobs out of the country while allowing massive numbers of illegal aliens to cross the border to be exploited by employers who just want cheap labor). While it may be true that Dobbs has used the immigration issue to increase his ratings, he has done the public a great service in the process. Is it so wrong that people who perform a public service should enjoy financial or professional success as a result of their efforts? I have a lot more respect for Dobbs than I do for the big businesses bosses, lobbyists, and immigration attorneys who profit by flooding America with un-needed and un-wanted workers in the name of free trade. I also agree with the comments on immigration and H-1B made by Marc. Having worked in the "immigration industry", I am aware of all of the ramifications that the H-1B program has caused in the US. This program is one of the most detrimental things to occur to the US economy since its inception. I have personally witnessed large US conglomerates turn down more than qualified US applicants so they could hire an H-1B foreign national. The "big four" consulting companies are some of the worst abusers. Now I can understand the hiring of a foreign national when there are no qualified US applicants. This is not the case in most H-1B hirings, however. Companies choose to hire less qualified foreign applicants either because they can either exploit the system by paying significantly lower wages, or because there is a foreign manager who wants to bring a family member over to the US. Now there are several steps you have to go through in order to obtain an H-1B, and I am here to say that each is fraught with loopholes. Congress is currently entertaining ideas about increasing the H-1B cap. That means even less jobs for Americans. Let's not forget that each H-1B carries with it dual intent. That means the immigrant can convert the H-1B into a greencard and permanently deprive an American of a job. While they’re at it they bring over their entire families to take other jobs. I do not believe my rights, or the rights of my fellow Americans, should be sacrificed to give an immigrant a job opportunity. Those are our jobs. They tell you when you are young--- go to college--educate yourself. All of that is for naught if an H-1B can come in usurp everything you have worked for Lets face it the US is not the same place that it was during the immigrant influx of the 19th century.
