Bush Re-Nominates Myers to Head ICE
"My inbox was filled with "Julie L. Myers" Google Alerts, this morning. Why?
Not to announce her graceful exit. No, that would be too classy, too wise, too logical. Nope. It was to announce that our ill-advised President RENOMINATED Julie L. Myers a/k/a "The ICE Princess" to continue heading up Immigration and Customs Enforcement," says Debbie Schlussel. "It'll be great for me if Myers stays. She provides plenty of material--mostly comedy, a lot of tragedy, and--of course--parody . . . parody far from what a real immigration enforcement chief would be like."
"This is going to be a very hard cookie to sell with this new Democratic-led U.S. Congress. What Bush did in January 2006 was to give an opportunity to Julie L. Myers to prove herself that she was fit for the job," says Miguel Contreras at Narcosphere News.
"I cannot overemphasis the ICE Office of Investigation leadership uses the Office of Professional Responsibility as a tool to retaliate against certain low-level employees or certain managers or supervisors that have 'fallen from grace' by conducting negligent internal investigations. Whether Julie Myers is confirmed or not, in my opinion, she is nobody. She is merely a political appointed “puppet” that is being manipulated by the 'good-old boy and girl network' of the ICE’s Office of Investigations."
