The People Vs. The ACLU in Hazelton
"Louis Barletta, mayor of Hazleton, Pa., has thrown down the gauntlet
to those who think America belongs to anyone who can walk across the border. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and a Puerto Rican group have taken up the challenge. And the mayor has upped the ante by hiring as defense counsel the former head of immigration in the Justice Department," says John Armor in a Washington Times commentary. "In this case, Hazleton has not caved. Quite the contrary, it has girded its loins for battle. It has engaged as chief defense counsel, Kris W. Kobach, formerly Attorney General John Ashcroft's chief adviser on immigration law. Also, Mountain States Legal Foundation and the Federation for American Immigration Reform have volunteered staff and lawyers to defend the town's position."

I find it thoroughly disgusting that the ACLU has forgotten it is the AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION--not the illegal immigrant civil liberties union. Since when are criminals in this nation ignored and that is what illegals are--criminals. One can bend the politically correct speech anyway they want, waste even more taxpayer dollars on people, who have broken into our country, broken our laws and who just need to be deported; but there is no way around the FACT that US citizens are totally fed up with the millions upon millions of people, who have entered this country illegally. Illegal is illegal, and the ACLU has become one of the most anti-American institutions on this planet. I have absolutely no respect left for this organization--NONE! They disgust me, when they push their open borders agenda and defy our laws. They need to go, too, and take all their illegal "victims" with them. If one doesn't want to face what they have done in life to raise the ire of entire communities of US citizens, perhaps they need to return home to their own homelands, rather than demand rights they don't deserve in ours. Who is funding this victimology--the Democrats, George Soros and his rich buddies--who?
Language, borders, and customs are the very foundation of any sovereign country. The people of Hazelton are fighting a fight that should never been allowed to happen in a nation built on laws. Our elected officials have not done their job, and continue to shirk their responsibilities. The good people of Hazelton are fighting the fight our useless politicians refuse to fight, and doing so may be in need of financial help. If anyone knows of a web-site to pledge money to help please post it.
Jaded,
Don't forget McCain, the US Chamber of Commerce and everyone else interested in cheap labor.
Watch the Mexican citizens destroy America. If it isn't through their massive crime waves it will be through their massive breeding and leeching off our social services. It makes me sick that ANY senator could ever go against the U.S. people. But, to go against us by supporting Mexican citizens instead of U.S. citizens is disgusting. To use our tax money for them should be a crime. We aren't a nation of millions of Mexicans, YET. I'm sure there are a few million armed cowboys who will make sure we never are.
I am so glad that Hazleton is standing up to the ACLU. I think the ACLU is used to people backing down from them. That's not the case here and from everything I've read the ACLU doesn't have a leg to stand on. Civil Rights are for American citizens only. There is nothing in the Civil Rights that says illegal aliens are covered by it.
I think the ACLU is only getting involved to get themselves in the news. They are such a worthless agency anymore. They were needed during the civil rights era but they have since betrayed the American people.
Brian
The ACLU is another tax free organization that needs to pay taxes since they are always entering political affairs. The ACLU should be on the side of Americans not illegals.
Pete, whoever these Senators are working for, it isn't the American people. When will hardworking taxpaying American citizens understand this? And as for Jadeds'comments on the ACLU, I can't even stomach hearing anything about this anti-American groups constant attacks on the citizens of this country. This organization is positively evil.
Yahooooooooo and Yeaaaahhhhh!
I was beginning to get disappointed and worried about the Hazleton ordinance.
I absolutely hate the Arrogant, Clueless Lowlives United and arrogant, self-entitled immigrant groups who only look out for themselves.
Listening to their idiot reps on TV, I wouldn't trust them to point out the courthouse bathroom to me, let alone represent me in a court of law.
I wish they'd all go find a deserted island to live on together, where they could all share in their disgusting selves and twisted, pompous ass, do-gooder values. Better yet, I wish they'd make like dinosaurs and vanish, so all that's left is pictures of them we could study and laugh at in years to come. You know, elimination of the stupid.
Well, that's what I wish for them that can be printed, anyway.
Bob, the website for information and contributions is:
www.smalltowndefenders.com
I sent mine in, and I hope you will, too.
the aclu's position that instant background checks for employment are illegal but they do not fight the government's ability to randomly audit people for income taxes tells me everything I need to know. one effects latinos and one effects whites. guess which side they are on.
To Bob Hubble: The site to donate to help the good people of Hazleton fight the good fight is www.smalltowndefenders.com. I'd sent a check in through regular USPS mail some time back, but it hasn't been cashed in yet. I'd inquired on this site before to anyone who had sent a check in through regular mail how long it took for their check to clear, but I didn't get any responses. (I'm a little concerned that my letter never made it out of my local post office, as my area is a "haven" for Third World illegals. I wouldn't be surprised if a few were working in the post office. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time I've had letters "lost" in the mail). Looking at things more optimistically, I'm hoping that it's just that Hazleton has received so many donations that it's taking a while for them to process them all!! - Diane (formerly one of the two "D"'s who posts on this site)
Diane,
I sent a check through regular mail and had no problem. It was cashed within a normal timeframe, 7-10 days, but that was early on in their campaign.
Maybe you should check with your local post office or contact Hazleton Municipal to see if they got it.
I believe the town has its own website, though I don't know the address, offhand.
Born American,
Thanks for the information. Earlier just today, I actually did send an inquiry to Hazleton Municipal. Someone there is going to check it out for me, but it looks "suspicious". She said they have only a few days backlog, and I sent mine in almost a month ago. I don't want to jump to any premature conclusions, but the thought of an illegal or an illegal-sympathizer happening to stumble on the letter at the post office and disposing of it just burns me up. I actually drove the letter to the post office and dropped it off myself specifically to avoid one link in the USPS carrier chain. As I say, my area is drowning in illegals AND the post office has a history of unreliability and incompetency issues. Not a good combination. Thanks again.
I long ago realized the ACLU was anti American and they've gotted worse! One day they may have to account for thier Treasonous ways! I hope!!
Pro Patria!
