Bush To Address Nation on Monday, May Announce National Guard Deployment "Amid a clamor over illegal immigration, President George W. Bush will make his case for a comprehensive overhaul of U.S. immigration law on
Update: Dan Stein was on CNBC today to discuss the President's speech on Monday and amnesty. Watch the clip (Windows Media). Comments
We have had enough of President Bush's dismantling of America. Posted by: lance_sjogren on May 12, 2006 02:37 PM I can`t stop laughing. If that happens, Jorge`s friends will be rioting in the streets. The border should of been secured years ago, it`s the government`s duty, but our present and past governments ignore that duty. 5 thousand, how about 10 or 20 thousand. It will just be more smoke and mirrors, and dodging the real problem from the Washington traitors to try and fool the American people again! Posted by: Independent Voter on May 12, 2006 03:05 PM I like the idea of thousands of military on the border. I will be listening to hear how many times he uses the term "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT" or "ILLEGAL ALIEN" instead of the "undocumented" ones. Posted by: Sick 'n Tired on May 12, 2006 03:07 PM YEAH RIGHT, AND HE'S GOT A BRIDGE TO SELL US TOO I don't want to rain all over Mr. Bush's parade, before we give him a chance to speak, but I'm skeptical as heck of him. He'll probably sanction some small group of National Guard in a station (where they sit inside a barracks and play cards?), then call the Mexican Consolate and tell them the location of our soldiers, so the coyotes and other illegal deliveries can circumvent this charade to convince the American people we're doing something. I pray to God I'm wrong. Posted by: Softwarengineer on May 12, 2006 03:15 PM Personally, I'd rather see the Army and the Marines on the border. Posted by: Born American on May 12, 2006 03:22 PM Bush may announce national guard deployment of five thousand. Five thousand on a 2000 mile border? NO Comment. Posted by: Bobby on May 12, 2006 03:35 PM I believe we can write the script in advance. Selective quotes: "I've heard the debate." "We must secure the borders." "We need comprehensive immigration reform." "A guest worker program will encourage people to come out of the shadows." Translation: I think you are all fools and idiots, and will buy my plan to open the borders and grant massive amnesty with open arms. It won't fly, and this guy should either resign, be impeached, or, gasp, do his job and enforce our laws. No one believes a damned word he says any longer, even the most credulous among us. Posted by: jack white on May 12, 2006 03:48 PM When the national guard are physically on the border, and not just a few, say around 20,000 for a start (5000 is a joke), then ill believe him. Still wont trust him, because he still wants his guest worker proposal passed first...He still caters to a foreign government before the AMERICAN people. Say hello to the RED, WHITE, and GREEN Posted by: one who knows on May 12, 2006 03:55 PM This BS report is strictly to placate his new enemies from his own party and the press. If he puts a single unit of nat'l guard on the border it will be strictly to monitor the minutemen and to keep the flow of illegals coming until he can completely castrate our nation. Nothing more than a PR attempt, just like the workplace enforcement. Only the morons amongst our people will be fooled. Posted by: cicerores on May 12, 2006 04:33 PM National Guard? Greatest soldiers in the world, but what kind of policemen are they? Posted by: Clinton on May 12, 2006 04:40 PM The country has had a great history of defending itself against all enemies in the past. Now, a US President, abetted by his cronies in Congress, big business, misguided churches and Latino activists, will wave the white flag of surrender and stand aside while a third world country takes possession of this once proud nation. Our voices have been drowned out by the demands of a flag-waving mob who will turn this place into the next third world sewer. Posted by: June on May 12, 2006 05:01 PM Until I see a permanent, military installation of our troops on the border, I see hundreds of employers being fined, prosecuted for hiring illegal aliens, I see thousands of illegal aliens being captured and deported, then I don't believe a word Bush says. He has gone completely insane, he just doesn't get it. NO AMNESTY. NO GUESTWORKERS. NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP. ENFORCE THE LAW. SECURE THE BORDERS. PERIOD! Posted by: contessa on May 12, 2006 06:29 PM Okay--so the Guard is to be deployed. First--will they have weapons to use (I have read that as of now those that are on the border are not allowed to have them on hand) and can they use them as needed? Second--you know darn well that they will either be told not to catch anyone or they will be forced to put on a show and catch some only to turn them loose later. I don't trust ANYTHING that bush says, period. Posted by: J on May 12, 2006 06:31 PM Senor Bush is a day late and a dollar short ! Posted by: pancho villa on May 12, 2006 07:16 PM I don't drink, but I'll be the first one to eat the worm in the Tequila bottle if he does what he says and means it. I voted for him twice and God will never allow me into heaven for doing that - but he may give me 30 days of "peace on earth" if Bush actually and faithfully executes the laws of the United States. In my humble opinion - which I offer up as often as possible on this and other related subjects - the National Guard ploy will be used to remove the Minutemen from the Border under an Executive Order citing that their presence there will interfer in a Military or National Security Operation. The proposed fence on private land will be stopped and civilian Border Watch Organizations will be banned from entering upon our side of the International Border. Make no mistakes about it - Bush will use the Guard and may very well seek a multi-national military presence of U.N. Forces which would include the experts in murder and beatings - the Mexican Army. I'm not saying that this will happen, but hey - he may very well do what he needs to do in order to appease the shrill crowd in America - meaning us - and also be able to give his business buddies and Fox the old "wink and nod" assurance they will be looking for. NO!! THIS WILL NOT DO AND WE NEED TO BE EXTREMELY VIGILANT WITH THIS GUY WHO CALLS THE CONSTITUTION NOTHING MORE THAN A GD PIECE OF PAPER AND THE MINUTEMEN AND OTHER BORDER WATCH GROUPS - VIGILANTES - AND UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS - LAZY AND NON-CONTRIBUTORS, ETC. Need I say anymore - other than to note that his "track" record speaks volumes about his TREASON!!?? Posted by: Michael J. Bruning on May 12, 2006 08:31 PM I believe that this failure of our elected officials to protect us from invasion is the greatest risk to National Security! You cannot fool the thinking people of this country into believing we are secure from threat when you can't even secure the borders! Posted by: Fed UP!!! on May 12, 2006 08:53 PM Watched the video clip! You did us proud, Dan! Thank you for speaking (and for speaking so very well!) for the American worker and taxpayer. God only knows where we would be without you and the staff at FAIR. I am truly grateful for all you do and are! Posted by: j on May 12, 2006 10:32 PM I think it's REALLY IMPORTANT for everyone to be Posted by: I Will-Vote -Accordingly on May 13, 2006 01:01 AM If Bush actually wanted to secure the borders he could have done so years ago. The man is an open-borders fanatic, has been an open-borders fanatic, and always will be an open-borders fanatic. Any effort to demonstrate other wise, by doing something like activating the National Guard, is nothing more than a sham to get his amnesty passed - then everything - including illegal immigration - will continue on like normal. In fact, the best way to describe Bush - the term that I most prefer - is "NEOFEUDALIST." Anything and everything he does is to benefit the wealthy: low taxes (only for the rich), few regulations, and dirt-cheap labor. Posted by: Craig on May 13, 2006 01:01 AM I don't know how Mr. Stein does it. Time and again, he has to face clowns like the agriculture representative, who make it sound like the whole country would collapse if people had to pay 5cents more for a head of lettuce. There is already a massive government program in place to allow for as many agriculture workers as needed. Anything else, like what Bush and the Senators want, does nothing but destroy the middle class, as Mr. Stein has tirelessly pointed out a zillion times. Posted by: Bobby on May 13, 2006 02:21 AM It seem, that our Presidente Bush, is trying to pull a fast one, on us again, by pretending to really care about the invasions of the illegals aliens to our country. If, he is really serious about it, he would give the green light to ICE to start doing sweep in land and fining the employers and give red light to amnesty and guest worker programs, but, he is not serious to it . For it seems he going to mention amnesty or tempory guest worker program to stop the flow of illegals to our country. I would like to understand his love ,to provide the illegals protection and at the same time destroy our way of life and country.. I believe that a close friend is find to help out , but 12million or more is rediculous without proper investigation. I also believe, if, he was serious about finishing the invasion of the illegals, he would also cut every Social benefit and programs that was created to help our Amercans Citizens, and , not the illegals. Presidente Bush is not serious to stop the invasions , for that reason , This republican is going to watch a movie , instead of listening to his speech on Monday..For it's the same old song , that keeps repeating over and over to himself...It not possible , not possible Posted by: AMERICANS CITIZENS FIRST on May 13, 2006 03:04 AM It is such an incredibly positive development that posters here at Stein have become 100% skeptical of anything our govt spews out. That shift to complete distrust is I think the first crucial step in defeating the elite who are raping our country. Posted by: Shelby Moore on May 13, 2006 03:22 AM military whether active duty, guard, or reserves will not be able to stop them. They must have the power to physical stop them which is not what they are going to be able to do. The only way that we can stop the invasion is cut of the benefits and jobs that these people are coming for. No benefits for illegal aliens, no citizenship for border babies ever, jail for employers of illegal aliens, and parachutes for the illegal. Kick them out of planes at the far end of their country when caught. Posted by: beckyal on May 13, 2006 09:22 AM I am very concerned about this turn of events, because we're also being told that Congress has "struck a compromise" in the whole "amnesty" package... you have to wonder just how screwed we're going to get. I applaud using extra force on the borders, but with all the talk about info being passed on about the Minutemen, you have to wonder why the response, why announce it, what deal did they reach? My senators aren't talking, are yours? Posted by: takn on May 13, 2006 10:21 AM takn, my Senators aren’t talking either. The Senators that are talking speak of it as if they and Mad King George will decide the fate of the country. The opposition congressmen, in the House, are referred to as “rebels” that need to be “brought into line”. What do they know that we don’t? Posted by: Gail Roma on May 13, 2006 11:12 AM RE: “Only the morons amongst our people will be fooled.” cicerores, unfortunately, there are a lot morons amongst our people. Don’t underestimate the capacity of the American people to be fooled. Don’t misunderestimate the ability of Mad King George to fool them. His speech will be the usual pack of lies and token efforts. A lot of people will believe it. He will probably get a small “dead cat bounce” in the polls. This will be cited as evidence that this is the will of the people. Then it will be time to “bring the rebels into line”. Posted by: Gail Roma on May 13, 2006 11:25 AM The Senate is scheduled to begin debate on an immigration bill Monday. In a Senate floor speech today, Sessions outlined 15 loopholes in the bill. These are just SOME of the problems with the bill Loophole 1: Illegal aliens with felonies or three misdemeanors can get amnesty. Loophole 2: Illegal aliens who have previously filed fraudulent asylum applications can get amnesty. Loophole 3: Aliens who have already had their day in court – those who are subject to final orders of removal, voluntary departure orders, are absconders, or are subject to reinstatement of their final orders of removal – are eligible for amnesty Loophole 4: Illegal aliens who have illegally crossed the border multiple times (felons) are eligible for amnesty. Loophole 5: Aliens who have persecuted others on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion get amnesty if they have been here for more than 5 years. Loophole 6: There is no continuous work requirement for amnesty. Loophole 7: “Just and reasonable inferences” from day labor centers or the alien’s “sworn declaration” must be accepted as evidence that the illegal alien satisfies amnesty work requirements. Loophole 8: The bill is fundamentally unfair – it benefits only those who broke the law, not those who followed it and got work visas to come to the United states, or those who left when their visas expired. Loophole 9: No illegal alien is left behind – illegal aliens who have been here for less than two years, and are therefore supposed to “go home,” can apply for the bill’s new H2C guest worker program without ever having to leave the country. Loophole 10: The annual numerical cap (starts at 325,000 + family per year) contains a built in escalator. If the cap is maxed each year, the cap will be as high as 2,012,314 by year 10 without any serious evaluation of what the proper number should be. Loophole 11: “Temporary Guest Workers” do not have to be essential to the economy, and nothing about them is temporary; they are permanent and on a quick road to full citizenship. Loophole 12: The work requirement for the bill’s illegal alien agricultural worker amnesty (AgJOBS) is satisfied in a matter of hours. Loophole 13: The legal status given in the bill’s illegal alien agricultural worker amnesty (AgJOBS) never expires. Loophole 14: Free legal counsel, paid for by the U.S. taxpayer, will be available to the illegal alien who wants to apply for the illegal alien agricultural worker amnesty (AgJOBS). Loophole 15: Reverses current law to allow illegal aliens to qualify for in-state tuition rates EVERYONE MUST FAX, E-MAIL, WRITE or CALL Posted by: Totally Fed-Up on May 13, 2006 06:02 PM Tony Snow's not doing much good, is he? Why do I know what GWB will say before he says it? Betcha he'll say "give me my amnesty "guestworker" program and I'll put troops on the border to placate you all cuz yer just too stupid to see the wool being pulled over your eyes again." Posted by: melati on May 13, 2006 06:06 PM With Bush, we really do have to take a Wait-and-See attitude. Frankly, I don’t believe it for a minute. He doesn’t care about America as we know and love it. He only cares about his vision of what American should be: The United Countries of North America. It won’t work because one member of this group is a rogue corrupt sh*t hole of a country. And its not Canada. It won’t work because you have a large group who won’t assimilate and despise everything America stands for. It won’t work because a large group thinks America belongs to them. Its insane. Posted by: MIke on May 13, 2006 06:11 PM There is an author by the name of Thomas Chittum who wrote the book "Civil War II : The Coming Breakup of America." Go to Amazon.com and buy this book, regardless of the high price. That is if you really want to know the future of this country. Chittum's predictions from 1996 are all coming true with alarming alacrity. The following is an excerpt from his book on the chapter relating to the reconquista checklist and is related to the topic being discussed: Item 11: "The massing of American military units near the border, or the involvement of our federal military in border control." Another excerpt: Item 6: "The increasing display by many Mexican-Americans of nationalistic symbols such as the Mexican flag, in much the same manner that many African-Americans now commonly wear Malcom X hats." The list goes on and on. The only way a multiethnic empire can last is through a totalitarian dictatorship, like the one we have now. Some of you wonder why the Senate will vote for amnesty when they won't be re-elected. The answer is simple. Look at all of the enormously rich business people who benefit from the invasion. How much does it really cost to buy a vote? I'm sick to death of this multi-culti propaganda. Whites will be less than half the population before too long. Is that DIVERSE enough, or do they want to wipe us out completely? Take heart though people, Chittum said that the federal government WILL lose the ability to control the situation due to the complexity of juggling the masses of multiracial poor. The book's concluding message offers a glimpse into our future: "All the world waits to see if America will become a multiethnic, democratic nation with a nonracial social contract, or if it will devolve into an ethnically and socially-tiered third-world empire, and shatter exactly as all other multietnic, undemocratic empires have throughout world history. When America erupts in flames, all the world will rightly conclude that Liberty's torch set her ablaze, and that democracy and a multiethnic society are mutually exclusive." Posted by: Terri on May 13, 2006 06:24 PM This Bush speech may precipitate a massive financial crisis:
"China's bubble may burst..." "Australian dollar may fall in fear metals prices will slider further..." "Copper rise may not be justified..." Etc...
The fundamentals are such that we are not even close to any top of this bubble boom, which can be verified by looking at any inflation adjusted historical price chart (can't find a link to any such up-to-date chart on the web for copper! amazing the ignorance in media!), and looking at the fundamental dynamics of the global economy, such as I and many others have documented: http://www.coolpage.com/commentary/economic/shelby/Inflating%20Deflation.html We are only a mass psychology inflection point away from a massive blastoff in metal prices, and probably a squeeze in copper (only 2 days supply margin I've heard). A good candidate is Bush's planned speech for Monday night, which is purportedly supposed to address the 60 - 85% of americans who want border enforcement and a stop to illegal immigration invasion amnesty lies. We suspect Bush will make some token gestures, such as 5000 National Guard reserves to the border to be stationed safely away from major transhipment points "picking their noses and playing cards". We are very close to a massive conservative revolt within the Republican party, joining forces against common enemy #1 Bush with the anti-war democrats, and increasing moves towards civil unrest. Bush's likely "snow job" should be another catalyst brick in the unrest wall. A massive switch out of houses, bank accounts, and general stocks into metals could blastoff with a simple inflection point where some small percentage of citizenry "gets it" and wakes up from their stupor to defy the lies being forced upon them. I do not know which day, week, or month it will occur, but being out of the metals market is extremely dangerous. I had always suspect 2007 due to my respect for Dines' predictive timing. However we can not rule out a blastoff this year to precede the currency crisis Dines' predicts for 2007. Due to the nature of mass psychology inflection point, I do expect a unexpected jolt at some point, not a gradual rise all the way up. When the wall of worry caves to anger and fear of bad govt, unrest, bank runs, etc... then a wildfire results... Posted by: Shelby Moore on May 14, 2006 10:55 PM During the last amnesty, I know for a fact that people purchased the necessary documents to show that they worked on a farm, even though these people never "saw" a farm let alone work in it. Again, people will buy the necessary papers showing that they have been here for five years when they may have only been here for 5 days. What will Congress do to stamp out forged papers? I think that we need to secure the borders first, get visa over-stayers out second, and then talk about any immigration reform. Keep up the fight! This Congress is out to seel America and it has to be stopped. Posted by: Anonymous on May 15, 2006 10:15 AM Some troops, Posted by: Some Mexican on May 15, 2006 10:22 AM Vinnie Fox's term is up on July 1, so I think this is why there is the sudden big push to come up with "comprehensive immigration reform" by Memorial Day. It is a way to help him look not so ineffectual and to influence Mexican citizens not to vote for certain candidates in Mexico. It's just a "look at what ole' Vinnie did" gesture! The border should have been closed after the first bombing of the World Trade Center, but Clinton was far too ineffectual to do so, since he was Mr. Amnesty himself. It certainly should have been after the second incident and the other incident's of 9/11. I blame both political parties for being such whimpy cowards more concerned with getting votes than for doing what is right for this nation. If the government refuses to administer the laws that are on the books, how in the h*ll do they believe they can create anything but mounds of paper they will continue to ignore, which do absolutely nothing to solve the problem. I am for putting the military, the National Guard and anyone else who wants to go, on the border. Tranquilizer guns come to mind--dart them and part them back to their own country. DC politicians continue to talk and listen to lobbyists, when they need to be listening to what the majority of US citizens want. We want both legal and illegal immigration reduced from these levels. We need to do a moratorium on all immigration until the system is fixed. We need to also not allow anyone in legally or illegally from those countries, such as Mexico, who do everything they can to get their citizens into our country, along with their skanky drug dealers, criminals, prostitutes, breeders and who knows what other collection of losers they want to get rid of. I don't think we should ever take anyone from the corrupt Third World narco-state of Mexico ever again. Vinnie Fox and his whining be damned. The male's a complete baffoon, so why is anyone trying to make him look like anything but the ineffectual "leader" that he is. Not everything should be based on politics--some things should be based on what is good for the US and its citizens. I am tired of this country taking care of everyone else first. Let other countries grow up and take care of their own citizens, after all it's the 21st century; and it's not like they haven't had time to learn. Posted by: jaded on May 15, 2006 12:09 PM WE NEED A NORTH AMERICAN OVER POPULATION SUMMIT ASAP Its time George Bush invited his buddies, "The Fox" and his other South American Marxists dictators for an ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMIT. Mexico is so OVER POPULATED with the rest of Central America, their GDP can't support 1/3 of their people. Invite the Pope too. Its time to blame the Mexicans and Central Americans for destroying their own countries. We can help them with birth control centers for the future, but keep them out of our country! Posted by: Softwarengineer on May 15, 2006 12:29 PM Can you say SCAM, SHAM, Flim-Flam Man... Talk about government malfaesance! You KNOW they won't be doing anything to offend bush's butt buddy vincente. Prediction: 5000 Nat'l Guard troops serving breakfast, lunch, dinner AND fourth meal to illegals as they sneak past the border patrol. I'll bet they will be washing their clothes too, so that can make a neater entrance into the illegal promised (by bush) land. I'll be immensley surprised if Halliburton doesn't get a contract on this one! Hopefully someone will bring a TB detector for the future mexican restaurant workers? One can only hope? Posted by: cicerores on May 15, 2006 12:41 PM A quick note to anyone thinking of following the advice to shift your assets into metals and gold. Gold is actually tanking, as are the metals stocks, which are breaking down across the board. Metals are inherently speculative, so don't rush into anything without considering your own situation. The safest investment in the world, some say, is paying off debt, because you are guaranteed a certain return (the amount of interest you save increases your net worth accordingly). Posted by: FCannon on May 15, 2006 03:14 PM Thank you Totally Fed Up May13 for covering all the loopholes that the Senate bill has. Your enumeration and analysis, paints a sickening picture of the state the country will be in if this is all allowed. Posters should keep these points in mind and even tell everyone willing to listen. Posted by: Bobby on May 15, 2006 07:05 PM I disagree with FCannon. Do rush into precious metals. It is the only asset class that can protect your wealth. Ignore the weekly volality, and stay focused on the FACT that silver is up 110+% in 1 year, and select silver mining stocks are up 500+% in 1 year. Don't fall victim to the hype machine designed to separate weak hands from the only thing of value. Get as much fixed interest debt as you can. Buy precious metals and wait for the entire house of cards financial & political system to collapse. The debt will be inflated away. The precious metals will become so insanely valueable. A 10 - 20% weekly/monthly volatility is irrelevant to the annual gains in metals.
