Did Bush Sing The National Anthem in Spanish? Si

"'When visiting cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, or Philadelphia, in pivotal states, George W. Bush would drop in at Hispanic festivals and parties, sometimes joining in singing 'The Star-Spangled Banner' in Spanish, sometimes partying with a 'Viva Bush' mariachi band flown in from Texas.' So writes author Kevin Phillips in his book AMERICAN DYNASTY," says Matt Drudge. "Last week, at the height of the illegal immigrant's boycott build up, Bush told reporters: 'I think the national anthem ought to be sung in English.'"

Update: Asked this weekend if the national anthem should be sung in Spaninsh, Sen. Ted Kennedy said "I think the Star Spangled Banner ought to be sung in English. Period." Watch the video at ExposeTheLeft

Is George W Bush the first president or candidate to pander to the groups he hopes to gain support from? NO!

I found this story just to be more kindling for the fire...I also believe his statement the other day, that the national anthem should be sung in English and people who want to live in this country and call themselves Americans should learn to speak English is a valid one.

It's NOT the fact that they are SINGING the Star Spangled Banner in spanish; these scumbags COMPLETELY rewrote the Star Spangled Banner! Do not let the open borders crowd lead U into believing that what is being sung is the original Star Spangled Banner; it is most DEFINITELY NOT the original version! They will NEVER earn the right to totally change that patriotic histroic song.

Re: George bush singing the Star Spangled Banner in spanish. The scumbag dirtbag is too stupid to even KNOW the words to the song, much less sing it in public.

Preservation of language and heritage is a powerful reason why Spanish-speaking illegal immigrants ought to be fighting for a prosperous Mexico and Central America, rather than hitching a ride on the US wave. True Hispanic pride would only be served by showing the world that Hispanic men and women are confident they can prosper on their own, without Anglo patronage. So, tough-sounding Hispanics mask deeper feelings of inferiority and insecurity with their reconquista chest-beating.

Mexicans need to take back their own country from corrupt leadership, and legal Hispanics in the United States should devote their energies to lobbying the US government to promote Mexican and Central American development, countries from which most of our illegals originate. Fighting to claim lands that once comprised only 1% of Mexico's population and were occupied by Indian populations with little loyalty to Mexico city is a lame cause, and furthermore, these mostly desert lands lack the water and other resources to support large human populations without assistance from Anglos.

Speaking about author and historian Kevin Phillips...I read several of his well researched and insightful books including Wealth and Democracy, American Dynasty, and his most recent book American Theocracy.

Conservative Kevin Phillips has exposed the Bush dynasty for what it really is. Not a pro-American family but a pro-big-business, open-borders, profit-first dynasty.

American Theocracy does a masterful job explaining how our corrupt politicians have sold us down the river with a huge deficit and a government body in the pocket of the FIRE sector (finance, insurance, and real estate).

As I have mentioned before, and as Phillips carefully explained in American Theocracy, Americans are living it up on borrowed time with several huge economic and debt bubbles about to burst, the imminent decline of the dollar, and the prospect of high energy prices giving rise to rampant inflation and unemployment.

Having 15 or 20 M illegals in the country is a consequence of big business corrupting our political system. Importing millions as a source of expoitable cheap labor will only exacerabate our problems in an economic downturn.

Its high time to clean house. No more open borders political dynasties (including the Bushes, Clintons, Kennedys, etc.) We need more Americans involved in political grassroots movements and more national leaders to emerge like Tancredo and Dan Stein. Americans need to stop the petty partisan bickering and unite to take our country back!

"...huge economic and debt bubbles about to burst, the imminent decline of the dollar, and the prospect of high energy prices giving rise to rampant inflation and unemployment."

Correct, and evidence for this scenario already exists in the markets: housing stocks are hitting 52-week lows, gold is soaring toward all-time highs, and the US dollar is already plummeting versus those Asian currencies that are not pegged to the greenback. We're witnessing the self-annihilation of the FIRE-oriented system of pumping up asset values and bailing out gamblers (e.g., the response after the Long-term Capital blowup) via cheap and easy credit from the Fed. The whole scenario bears an uncanny resemblance to the Roaring 20s, only worse. I won't go as far as the doomsdayers on this, however, because no matter how bad the post-bubble collapse will be, the mess can be cleaned up with national unity intact. The true doomsday scenario would come only if we lacked national unity and responsible, adult leadership. We need more national leaders such as Tom Tancredo and Dan Stein, and I'd vote for the best and most responsible candidate, regardless of party.

Presidente Jorge Bush is the best errand boy that Vicente Fox ever had. He's an absolute turncoat and should be impeached and deported toMexico.

He said a few days ago that the anthem should be sung in English, and now we find out that he's crooning away in Spanish. And, one can view his speeches on whitehouse.gov, where he says that immigrants would be required to learn English as part of his shamnesty plan. Yet, linksto a Spanish version are provided.

Bush is determined to secure his place in American history as the president that gave away ournation to the Mexican goverment and it's illegal foot soldiers.

now realize that voting for him was one of the worst mistakes I've ever made.

Our government and other bleeding hearts have done everything but bow down and lick the illegal boots!
I was amazed to hear that the singers involved in the Hispanic National Anthem were actually dumb enough to think a song would make Hispanics want to be a part of this country, if those feelings and beliefs weren't already in their hearts to begin with.
Then to hear their version of our history, just made me want to vomit! This is OUR National Anthem. Why does anyone want or need to change it for any reason? I guess for the same twisted reasons they think we should accommodate their language and customs. It takes a set, doesn't it?
Leave our anthem and language alone. Either sing and speak in English or go home.
It's time for Congress to make English our official language.

Bush is the problem. When dealing with Fox, he is so excited to speak Spanish he can't stand it. It makes him stupid, avoiding the issues. Fox should have his feet held to the fire for having maps of how to sneak across the border and watering stations and all the rest of his crap. Bush should be threatening Fox like a real American should.. Now, Fox has opened a pipeline to be the worlds largest cocaine dealer and Bush will probably invite him to dinner with McCain and Kennedy. They will exchange pats on the back and a few nice words. CRAP CRAP CRAP.

There's an organization called English First that's been working on this issue for quite a while and have successfully gotten legislation looked at in quite a few states. Since the federal government is refusing to do their job in regard to immigration, check to see if your state has this legislation and if they don't work actively to make it happen. Most of the funding to cover illegals comes from local and state coffers, so the money will not be spent at this level with printing everything in the hundreds of languages that exist in this country. Every little bit helps in the struggle and in the tug of war we're having with those set on dismantling the greatest nation the world has ever seen. We need to pull the rug out from under their feet. Since the May day march was announced, I have been boycotting all businesses who cater to illegals, hire them etc and have not been driving very much. We have our own clout and need to find ways of using it. I find it amusing, too, how people are worried about the cost of gasoline and where the next sources will come from; but never does anyone speak about how much gasoline is being used by the 20+ million people, who are in the country illegally. Just think, if they were all deported, would there be such a problem with the cost, supply and demand. Illegals--the gift that keeps on giving! All I am saying is give deportation a chance!

Excellent point--not to mention the additional burden on the roads (traffic congestion, damage, etc.) that these unexpected "extra folks" cause. I make this point roughly every other time I call any senator/representative. I also take care to mention the fact that we are already short on green spaces (impacting quality of life) and--even more important (the neglect of this one surprises me)--water! We simply do NOT have the resources for this kind of instant or near-instant expansion/population explosion.

If we were all in a life-boat (which we truly are in a sense!), being saved from the wreck of the Titanic (representing the third world and its problems), how many could we let in the boat until EVERYONE would perish rather than having some, at least, be saved? As I have stated before, I find it so incredibly odd that we have limits on the number of people that a ballroom or theater can hold for safety/quality reasons but, when it comes to our beautiful country, it is "come one, come all".

A student of mine from India once told me that the thing that he noted every time he revisited India was the complete lack of privacy or aloneness there. He went on to state that "everyone knows everyone else's actions and business because there is ALWAYS someone else there seeing/watching due to the incredible overcrowding." Is this what we want for ourselves and our children?

And regarding Bush saying one thing and doing another about the singing of the anthem in Spanish--are any of us surprised at this point? The man can not be trusted, period. In fact, my one thought after Tony Snow assumed this new position was that Tony (meaning well, perhaps) would make sure that Bush said all the "right things", the proper "catch words and phrases" while we know full well he doesn't really mean any of it. I long ago quit listening to anything he has to say--his actions (and lack thereof) are what speak to me. Let the hearer beware when listening to Bush.

Why,- why, are people still amazed at where Bush stands on illegal aliens. Every time he does something involving the narco- state known as Mexico, people get all amazed. Come on. Those that have eyes to see and ears to hear, or as Michelle Malkin had said, 'none are so blind as those who 'will' not see, etc. etc. This President is a lost cause when it comes to this issue.
